Flash forward was a good show. Had a good premise. ABC just wasn't patient enough. What is very eerie about the show is actor Lee Young in one of the episodes commits suicide by jumping off a building in actuality took his own life in 2013.
I know they're two different kinds of shows.
It made me think of dejavu because of same themes same channel.
And about mismanaging tv shows all five major channels cw,fox, abc, nbc, and cbs are all guilty of wasting tv shows or purposely setting them up to fail.
The whole if it's not a powerhouse in five episodes or the first season it never will be. Like the freakin raiders oh this coach didn't get us to the playoffs he's a failure fire him after one damn season, or not giving him two to three seasons.
Rome wasn't built in a day, married with children for several seasons didn't have great but still given a lot of time rose to the top, cars and other things go through changes it doesn't happen over night or a day they are made, etc.
But that's the culture wanting microwave results.
I haven't watched the show and don't intend to, but am I the only person who finds the premise ridiculous? If my Grandparents just showed up at my door, I would flip my **** in terror. And probably wouldn't sleep for years. I feel like that is the normal response.
I think you are over thinking it. The "pilot" was very good, and very well done and it got monster ratings.
We don't yet know from one episode who or what these people are clones, aliens or someone/company doing some genetic experiment? One of the previews (appeared) to show one of the "returned" looking at her own body in a morgue and as for as we know its just this one little town that is having this happen.
I think its a great sci-fi drama!
It looks like the Doctor lady's mother is back as well. Unless that guy who she asked is her dad is talking to himself.
It seems that the brother who is (slow?) can see that these people aren't who they say they are.
I'm also going to say I'm thinking this is only happening in this town.
That brother will be seen eventually to not be crazy. That reincarnated version of his dad is definitely not his dad. He seems to be evil. I wonder if the sheriff's dead wife will return. I'm positive she will and when she does, that'll be interesting considering she cheated on him right before her death.
I think the father was a criminal before even died. I'm guessing what was buried in the woods was money that he and the guy in the church stole together. After having seen two episodes of both now though I have to say right now that hands down Believe is a far more entertaining show.
Resurrection apparently is going to end up being a dark show. Like you said Dooley2, maybe the dreams the kid is having are in fact a foreshadowing suggesting that the returned only have a limited amount of time before they return to being dead.
Their facial reaction to the opening of the coffin could go either way. If the body was there or if it wasn't.
I'm going to make a prediction that this show doesn't last very long.
