Absolute human filth.... Specter faces hostile audience at health care forum

Sure they do, if they are being disruptive they can be asked to leave but they have every right to tell their representatives what they think, it is the beauty of our system.

Let me ask you this:

As a Gator fan, suppose I don't like hearing what you guys have to say here about UT football? Suppose I decide to begin a denial-of-service attack on the servers that host this place, so that no one can discuss UT football?

you're acting as if the bully pulpit doesn't belong to our head socialist. Sit down and shut up, really?

These same congressmen and women are the ones trying to ram this down the countries throat when that majority of Americans are against this bill. Sure they are going to be shrill about it, it is the last recourse they have left to try and stop what most Americans believe will be a disaster for the country.

Oh, this tactic may well work, it sure seems to be gathering momentum. But when the shoe is on the other foot and its leftists standing up and shouting at the top of their lungs at a Republican, and preventing discussion, you guys are the first ones asking where the guys with the handcuffs are.

Much of that has to do with the fact that the disinformation campaign is working.

obama just said that the healthcare plan would not increase our deficit. who's being more dishonest? shouldn't our president be held to a hire standard than conservative bloggers?

Apples to oranges, your scenario is illegal, free speach is protected. As I said they can be asked to leave if they are disruptive, under your scenario the result would be legal issues resulting in probation or a short to medium term jail sentence.

absolutely. Volume of the commentary doesn't change the point or the worthlessness of the answer. The bottom line is that Americans, from both sides, want no part of a government mandated healthcare boondoggle.

Most would probably be fine with gov't sponsored / hosted brainstorming sessions and government mediated solutions, but very, very few want a government run system. Too much empirical evidence of failure and no evidence of success.

Exactly. Any pure public option, which is what the Obama plan wants to do, is a complete disaster waiting to happen. Even many democrats can realize this.

Oh please, it has happened all over the country to republican politicians. They are almost used to it as is the public. Protest is protest. The simple truth is that if there were a true discourse going on between the people and their representatives the shouting wouldn't be happening at all. You can thank Obama for telling the people they need to sit down, shut up, and take it up the arse for this reaction. If this were not being shoved down our throats and being looked at from all angles very little of these protests would be happening at the town halls.

This tactic would not work at all if the GAP didn't broadly agree. You know it fully well.

Let me get this straight.

You are miffed that a Senator had a meeting to discuss health care. When people stood up to shout him down and prevent him or others in the audience from doing just that, you are 1) angry that the Senator said that he would not tolerate the effort of these people to prevent free speech; and 2) you think that means that the Senator is the one trying to hide the truth?

If these folks were really interested in playing any sort of constructive role in these meetings or our democracy in general, they would stop hijacking them for their own purpsoes and let people ask questions and offer answers, then debate them, instead of preventing the entire discussion in the first place.

One guy got out of hand - he wasn't on the list of official question askers. The others did have a dialog and didn't like the answers they were getting.

You are completely blowing the hijacking angle out of proportion as are your pals in the current administration.

People are angry because they don't want your precious government taking over healthcare.

We would do the same thing to you, that we are going to do to your heroes in 2010/2012.

Get rid of you.

One woman prompted a standing ovation by telling Specter: "I don't believe this is just health care. This is about the systematic dismantling of this country. ... I don't want this country turning into Russia, turning into a socialized country. What are you going to do to restore this country back to what our founders created, according to the Constitution?"

When she said this, Arlen had to take his suit jacket off. I was thinking, yes Arlen, its going to be awhile. Get comfy

If this plan is so great, why will Congress be able to opt out of it?

I ask the same of another awesome government plan Social Security.

Great question. I haven't heard a good response from Obama or any of his cronies yet.

If they're going to cram the public option down our throats, the very least they can do is agree to be on the same plan. But they won't, because it's all about power with Obama and this Congress.
