His arrogance got in his way. He’s repeatedly said he’s their guy and had his back. It finally got to the point of no return, DJ has and is going to continue costing them games.
What’s crazy is my former roommates at Clemson who follow the program closely continue to defend him and blame it on the WR corp. How is Klubnik 7-7 for 125 yards with the same WR corp?

Because he’s 20-4 as a starter going into that game. Clemson’s QB situation this year reminds me of Bama with Hurts and Tua. Hurts was like 22-3 or something like as a starter but Tua was more explosive.
Regardless, Dabo’s best years have been with 2-3 year starters…. DJ had to follow and keep the level of Watson/Lawrence. He had the hype but fell short. Everyone was all in on him being the next “franchise” qb after he filled in for Lawrence on the road at Notre Dame as a freshman. He won a lot of games as a starter but sadly, 20-5 doesn’t cut it at Clemson. Klubnik seems like real deal.
DJ always seemed like odd fit coming from Cali to the southeast.
