ACC > SEC

SEC is the worst P5 conference this year, and it's not close. It hasn't been this down in 20+ years.

Agree. I do think SEC has been weaker in the Saban era since 2012. It was looking good from 2019 on but has really collapsed this year. Part of the issue is most of the talent is just going to two schools (Georgia and Alabama). I also think the weak OOC scheduling is catching up. It does us no good playing the Ball States of the world.

2001-2012 was the high point of the SEC. Multiple programs competing for a National title.

Except SEC schools get double or near double the amount of TV revenue as ACC schools.

In business, success is not measured by anything other than the bottom line. College football is a business and we're killing the ACC.

Yep. Never understood the wanting the conference to be good. I always want every SEC team besides TN to lose every game.

I would rather see Alabama come in unbeaten (like last year) and beat them. Far more enjoyable than playing a team that everyone has already written off because they suck.

To be honest, SEC can take it because of "history." They shouldn't because people talk **** about the other leagues in the past for having seasons like the SEC is having now.

TV deals. This isn't 1960. Back then, sure, screw the SEC and Go Vols. Period.

Now, what separates the SEC from the PAC? Lots of viewers (read: money from media companies) because the football is good and fun to watch. The PAC, not so much and the good schools left because they couldn't get a decent TV deal.

We need to be in a successful conference to continue to have success in this era of college football. Things have changed. Follow the money.

It is a mixed bag. It looks good to beat good teams but it also helps Tennessee if their programs start to struggle.

Don’t care about any of that. Screw the SEC. Go Vols.

If the conference sucks and it starts to cause recruiting to dip for the Vols, that matters. There's a reason we can recruit at the level we do.

Some of it is NIL now. Some of it is we're in the best conference in the country and most elite players normally want the most exposure, that is, good TV coverage.

It's not a requirement that you care about that but you do care about the Vols. The Vols won't recruit well today without money and without a high profile conference. Kids are not going to college to "play for the Vols because I've always wanted to play for the Vols."

You may want it to be that way again but it's not. The Vols need a strong NIL and a strong conference profile to be good.

Ironically, all of these L’s came at the expense of former ACC coaches Jimbo and Brian Kelly, and the son of ACC legend Frank Beamer.

Maybe it’s time to look at this from a different perspective and see that maybe the SEC is down a little bit, but also every single team you have here Miami, FSU and UNC have all massively underachieved for the better part of 2 decades, FSU being an exception by winning a BCS title and making the first CFP.
