ACC suspends refs at Duke Miami for 2 games

I'm gonna just leave this right here...

Is that just a still photo or a freeze frame from the broadcast?

I didn't see the game live and the replays I've seen online never show a clear angle of his knee down. From what I understand the camera set up in the game was pretty lousy (ie no camera on the goal line to see if Duke even broke the plain on the TD preceding the kick). If that's the case then the replay guy didn't have indisputable evidence.

Also I only saw one true block in the back. However it wasn't the one they threw a flag on. You can't call penalties in the replay booth.

Quite honestly that would have been a hard play to correct
officiate live on the field. A lot was going during that madness and turning your head or blinking could easily make you miss something.

I hate it for Duke but I'm totally against a day later reversal.

That shot wasn't from the broadcast, it was taken by a photographer on the field.

I am concerned we will get this crew for the FSU-FLA game at the end of the month. If both still have one loss, and the winner can get into the playoffs if they then win their conference title games, ugh, the combination of pressure to advance the ACC team plus their general incompetence might be too much to overcome.

That crew will be lucky to work Wake Forest-Boston College, let alone UF-FSU.

RU got a horrible spot against OSU, even Herbstreit thought so. Replay official upheld it.

Officials called zero penalties on OSU during the entire game.

Guess officiating needs work all over the nation.

Does that really matter, though? It does nothing for Duke. They get an apology and a foot in the ass, how perfect a picture this paints of NCAA football.

If the NCAA/ACC wanted to do the right thing, they'd award the win to Duke. Think about this: Duke has fallen out of the top 25 because of the refs' incompetence. Their chance at a division title is now in jeopardy thanks to FOUR ref errors on the very last play.

If I was a voter, I'd vote Duke as if they still had one loss. It's ridiculous for them to drop out of the top 25 because the refs fixed the game.

Can't award the game to Duke. If you did it would set a precedence for overturning games. Just because it happened on the last play should not be handled differently than if it happened on the first play. MCAA will never open that door.

.

Based on what I've seen the last few years that's an understatement.

It will never happen and ultimately I agree you really can't, but man that sucks for Duke.

I feel like there could be a valid rule change here. Obviously we can't take a 3rd quarter call and change it to decide the outcome of the game but when it is the last play of the game and it's this clear, it really doesn't make sense that we just swallow this bull****.
