According to Tony Basilio, we met with a QB

No offense, but rotating guys would likely be a disaster. The saying "If you have two quarterbacks, you actually have none" is true more often than not.
Unless your name in Steve Spurrier. He always seemed to make it work somehow

It’s not a free market as the term is used in economics. He’s generally several people with lots of money trying to buy a championship. It has nothing to do with the players value to a university. It has to do with people wanting a championship for their s hook.
The university has been soliciting donors to pay for decades. To try to say the university isn't behind paying and valuing which athlete to pay is ridiculous.

Were donors recruiting? No. Was the school deciding on players by "perceived value?" Yes. Was the school essentially controlling who they'd get by how much they could pay? Yes.

NIL changed none of that. Ohio State spent $50M reportedly and bought the best team in college football. Michigan got a donor to pay $10M to Bryce Underwood to buy him from Alabama.

Trying to hide behind "the collective isn't the school" is truly dishonest. The coaches are deciding who they go after and always have.

Do you think it's all changed since Will Wade's "strong ass offer" or the extreme stupidity of Pruitt?

Not suggesting it, just saying it would be very different if he actually gave players a shot to earn it in the game. He has his guys and sticks with them. Similar to how he's treated the WRs.

Ah...I see what you were going for. My bad.

I've enjoyed seeing Heup evolve as a coach, but he's also still very stubborn in some ways. I agree, him rotating series means neither guy separated themselves. What happens if one really struggles and we don't have the OTs being injured excuse? Does he stick with a guy all year or does he bench him for the other (or 3rd option from the portal)? Doesn't seem to be his style to go back once he's made a decision.

After Joe got healthy, Coach Heupel didn't replace Hooker because he saw he'd evaluated them incorrectly.

Being a former QB, I think he knows the jump it is for a true freshman to come in and start at this level. Takes a special kid who's physically mature to do it. Don't think he would want to throw a youngster into the fire like that and have him overwhelmed. Gonna be interesting to see what Heupel does and how it all works out. I think 6-8 wins is reasonable.

Not at all. Spyre forked out $8 million. I would say that was a pretty ****** investment.
You believe that Spyre made the call that Nico was worth $8M and not Josh Heupel?

You think Heupel gives them a shopping list of who he'd like and they decide who is worth what and that's who UT ends up with?

I watched the video on twitter that someone took and posted of the O&W game.
From what I saw we will be bringing in someone to be the potential QB1
No offense to Merk and GMac

Anybody got a list of potential qb names that might hit the portal after spring? I don’t. Had a friend mention Altmyer at Illinois, but by all accounts he’s staying there.
Thread in the recruiting forum with some speculation. A few ppl actually know people that know things. Heupel won’t tamper but there will be some people that reach out to representatives of guys like Altimyer, Hoover, etc.
