I know there is a lot Kiffin hatred left from the slap in the face he gave us and I will be the first to admit that I dislike the slimeball as much as the next guy but some people on here really need to quit pretending like he was not part of UT history.

Honestly, some people are so adamant about never speaking of him and it is totally ridiculous. He was a coach here, the same as Fulmer, Majors, Battle, Neyland, etc. People say it is stupid to keep mentioning him...isn't it equally stupid to act as though he never existed? To really move on, you need to accept the fact that he was here, he left, and the whole fiasco was a mistake. I for one just refuse to act like he never coached here. Sorry for the rant, Go Vols.

That scumbag doesn't deserve any recognition.

Until ut starts beating Alabama and Florida on a consistent basis, you're asking for too much. I loved and eventually disliked kiffin. His media circus to somehow still involve the words Tennessee in it bothers me.

It's sad he will be mentioned with previous UT coaches in the history books. It's really not the fact that he left the way he did. If I knew about him plastering USC crap everywhere before he left I would have been done then.

15 pages, I'm calling it

Awesome, that would be a personal record for one of my threads.

Oh I agree, it is sad since he seemingly has nowhere near the class or integrity as most of them and never represented this proud program in a way that it deserves. I never knew about the USC crap until after he left and by that point, I already despised him.

Ah yeah that's true. I thought this was in the football forum at first, maybe it got moved to the right forum.

It was a big deal when he came in and a big deal when he left. But in the end he was a 1 year transitional coach who went 7-6. Quite pedestrian when put into context with UT's history.

Where is that video of that lady singing her remix of rocky top? That might help.

You are forgetting all of the mythical alternate universe titles he won because he "had us headed in the right direction." If you bash Lane then you'll constantly be reminded of how much Kiffin obviously would have done as well as receive a few comments about how you love Fulmer even if no one mentioned Fulmer. Kiffin isn't the only coach that some fans need to get over.

Few have a problem with well-reasoned dislike of Kiffin. It's the guys that say we'd have been on probation for sure, had to vacate the '98 title, were doing terrible on the recruiting trail, and that any other coach would have won 10 games in 2009, etc. that are the focus of the OP.
