I think he is making a big deal out of nothing. Sounds like Donavan and the players were fine with it. I even heard on Sports Radio today that Foley was one of the ones that was against that rule and the fines when it came out last year. Interesting.

Foley can suck it. He needs to worry about his own school and the crap that goes on at their football games.

idk, hard to swallow the fact his team got beat... maybe he lost alot of money on the game and seeing the fans storm the court just gave him a reason to lash on tennessee???

I understand their concerns for their players, but it's a little ridiculous.

Isn't that the truth.

I am pretty sure they stormed the court too.

Somebody oughtta complain about that rule. If you're scared of getting hurt, DON'T go on the court.

The SEC is the only conference with that rule, I think.

OK, That is logged for future reference. But otherwise, see my earlier post. What a bunch of crybabies.

"It's not a bunch of losers here making excuses," Foley said. "It has nothing to do with the outcome"

Sure it doesn't Foley, whatever you have to tell yourself to sleep better at night. Now you can go cry into your little Gator pillow. <- Foley

This is just retarded....I did like the comments that pearl made about the situation however- that he was completely behind the students and fans however this was probably the last time to do it...

Dear Mr. Foley,

You were warned ahead of time this could happen. But all in all, there was only one way to prevent this and you know who's fault it is? YOURS AND YOUR TEAM'S. A simple "prove you deserve #2 or even #1" could have prevented this.

I'm sorry but when a school is used to Buzz Ball and not winning and we defeat not just one but TWO #2 teams in a matter of weeks, we deserve to celebrate. We deserve to show our appreciation for the coach and the players. It's a new day in UT basketball. If fans cannot celebrate a win like that, then what the hell is the point of having them in the stands in the first place.

Last time I checked, Gainesville was not too friendly to opposing teams' fans as well. I've seen many verbally and physically harrassed and beaten. But I guess it is OK down in Gainesville to celebrate by beating up the opposition's fans?

Stop being a crybaby and deflecting the fact that your team is not what everyone thinks they are. For your players' sake cry and whine about how they played not how the other teams fans act after the game. And lighten up a little. Next time I'm in Gainesville I expect you to be the Pope and your fans to be the boys and girls choir. We'll see just how fair and equal things work in Gainesville. So wipe the tears from your eyes and get you a stress ball to relieve the pain. Or bend over and take the beating with the belt like a man and move on. If you're still dwelling on that loss, you're a weak and sorry loser. Grow up and move on. You're embarassing your players and your school.

Basilio described it best when he referred to Gainesville as Pakistan during football. Foley is the LAST person that should bitch about this. Pot meet kettle.

The Florida broadcasters summed it up great. "that's an SEC violation and a fine the school will happily pay." Wins like this are so huge. To not let the fans explode would be criminal. I for one miss the days of goal posts being paraded down Cumberland Ave. Storming the court is an example of why I love college sports.

They had the cops out there in front of the students /w 5 mins left... but I think it was just a ploy by Hamilton, kind of a "Maybe seeing you guys will keep them off the court" (yeah right) "but if they storm the court, don't stop them, it'll be worth it to pay the fine." :D

This will become a two edged sword for Foley. He wants to make an issue out of this fine. Can't wait until it happens there at UF. There really is not way to stop that many folks wanting to get on the court. To make the comments he did that UT did nothing are juvenile and he at that point is only looking for press. What comes around goes around. When UT goes to Gainsville for the second game we'll give the UF fans reason to leave early. How about that Herr Foley.
