Admittedly a Possibly Dumb Question

Completely false narrative. Barnes loves pushing the ball when possible. And especially when we have the horses. Go watch Bone…..Chandler…. Etc…. Seasons. Crazy posts on this board after losses…..
We lost a game earlier this year because we didnt do the natural thing. Just DUNK the ball and its over, not kicking it out !!! Thats all I need to see, my friend !!!

Barnes changes his approach every year. It’s going to be adjusted based on what he’s got on the roster and how the rules will be interpreted. This year the defense is based on not taking many risks and playing fierce through the opponent’s entire shot clock. There are going to be fewer possessions so there isn’t much room for error. There aren’t many scorers. There are guys that can play excellent team defense. Every possession is huge. Every mistake is amplified.
We dont even have a true point now. Best scorer is a freshman that we decided not to play this year. WHY ???

Like yesterday when 30 of 71 points came from 3-pointers and 30 points came from 2 pointers?

30 points from MZ & UT from 3, both teams hit 10 of 26.threes.
OTH Reading through this thread if I didn’t know the record of this team. I would come to conclusion this team has played 33 games & its record must be around 16 W & 17 Ls not 24 & 9 and looking at a 3 seed. This team has had numerous disruptive injuries that have never allowed this team to gel with continuity consistently. It is what it is just not our year for everything to fall into place. Takes a lot of good fortune to be in the final 4 there will be 64 losers going home. March Madness.

Always the azzhat of the group.
Tn played Mizzou twice yielding 86 and 79 points. while scoring 85 and 71. They're 1-5 when playing top 20 offensive teams, 4-7 Top 25 (ADJO Kenpom). Seems to be a more inconsistent D than O when playing the better offensive teams.

It's frustrating to watch TN get a 10 pt lead early and then just lose concentration and become almost scared to shoot the ball. We bring the ball down, and it seems like they are told not to shoot until they've passed it around the perimeter. They pass the ball and run their set play until the clock forces them to take a shot. Nobody wants to shoot for lack of confidence or whatever reason. You won't win many games when you can only score in the paint every 3rd possession
Yeah, on one hand it's great to have a strong D, and we have to play to our strengths...we're not going to all of the sudden become an offensive powerhouse. But, it is so frustrating to watch us have no real offensive strategy. Some teams I've watched lately make it look so easy to move the ball and get open shots. Scoring seems so difficult for us too much of the time.
