Advice first Braves game...

It's been a few years since I was down there, but I agree that the area where the ballpark is isn't dangerous. Sorry if that's how it read. I just meant there's really nothing else in the area

Can't disagree with that. It's desolate outside the stadium. Hence the reason the Braves gave the city the finger and are moving up north of town.

The Vortex doesn't allow kids so... Don't go to the Varsity. The Westin Peachtree plaza is the tall cylinder shaped hotel and has a cool rotating restaurant on the top. If you plan on parking at the Braves stadium, bring a cooler with your favorite beverage b/c there is nothing around the stadium, not even a dumpy dive bar. The CF-HOF is brand new, pretty cool, and good way to burn an hour (and $20). I actually might go to that game.

I couldn't agree more about the Vasity. It's like eating at a rundown Sonic.

If you want to stay downtown, check out one of the secondary markets (Hotwire, Priceline) as they usually offer much lower rates there than reserving directly with the chain.

I don't go to Atlanta very often but I prefer the Virginia Highlands area to downtown. Lots of restaurants, bars, small stores. Safe (I think).

You guys should be banned from Atlanta. Disgraceful how you speak about their national treasure.

Vortex is excellent as is the comedy club in the back of the downtown location.

Hitting up Holman and Finch for a burger is much easier on Sunday mornings than 10pm at night. One of the nation's finest.

I really like some of your music.

Get a hotel near Lennox or w/in 1 mile of a station. Ride Marta to the west end stop and take the Braves shuttle to and from Turner Field. It's 9 bucks round trip. This is the easiest way to get there. Unless your train breaks down. That sucked.

Also, go to Topgolf in Alpharetta. Even if you don't golf. Just go.

I guess we will stay in Buckhead, unless anyone has better suggestions.

Bulkhead or further down Peachtree in the Olympic Park area toward the Ritz Carlton would be the way to go. Anywhere in that corridor.

I choose the Ritz Carlton. They have a Braves package you get two breakfast meals, valet parking, and $25 gift card for the Braves game. I paid 319 for a King Suite. Like the excellent reviews.

Thats a very good rate for a Ritz Carlton. Great hotel. Whenever I have looked up rates for Ritz down in Naples, Fl, it is double that!

Do yourselves a favor and go eat at Fogo de Chao in Buckhead while you're there. Brazilian steakhouse. Looks and sounds fancy, but you don't have to dress up to dine there. Go hungry because you'll want to keep eating once you get started.

Bones is another good restaurant, but pricey and not kid centered. Order them a pizza and lock them in the hotel room. Lol.

Legendary TG with the opening pitch. The seats, meal at the 755, and outcome were all great.
