Ralph Williams had an FSU offer.

Meline had Georgia and Alabama offers. The big 3 would have offered him if he grades weren't a big question.

He's an elite athlete.

yeah, I agree...not trying to take anything away from Meline and I am happy to have him...

but to say that we beat Florida for Meline is simply not true.

Me too. I was hopeful they could get 3-4 S. Florida kids this year. Having 5 in the fold already is unbelievably impressive. You can never have too many S. Florida kids. Best area in the country for talent.

I think it just speaks to how many good players the state of Florida possesses. I mean we may not have beaten Florida for Meline, but Meline still had a host of nice offers and you had to think Meline was still on Florida's board if they somehow had "problems" getting the real guys they wanted, and if the academic thing didn't scare them.

After this year of getting kid's eligible though and UT not having to be as selective, I have high faith in our staff at making sure that doesn't become an issue. James Green didn't make it through, but this was a very good year for qualifying our incoming freshmen.
