Yeah when I lived in Vegas I met a young gent who made a living solely off of betting on college basketball and he rarely bet against the home average or better home team in the power 5. This conversation was held in 2013. The SEC has only gotten more competitive since then. I was corrected when I said this team isn’t strong on the road, but I think at best we are average even with a couple of solid dubs. It’s almost as if winning on the road is very difficult.
Just a thought….
This is why we Methodists are the peacekeepers and rarely had teams to enter into the leagues. lol "Conflict avoiders" lolAnd not being as locked in mentally. No way Aggies were as focused tonite as they were Sat.
The crowd at Vandy reminded me of some church league crowds when Baptist played the Church of Christ
Another thought is this team, while long, isn’t super physical and seems to struggle against teams who are multiple in long and big men that are complemented with average or better guard play. Seems like we tend to do better with teams whose best players are guards even if they score a lot of points, because we match them at times and dominate the boards. Could be wrong, but that’s what it seems like from the SC and A&M games.
I agree and A&M is around the seed number that were likely to see in the second round. Good thing is that we have time to figure out how to combat those type of teams.Nope, you're right on. We can run with anyone and dominate guard-oriented teams, but SC and A&M showed our weakness in dealing with physical fronts not afraid to punch us in the mouth. Not sure if we have the personnel to change that, but we're going to come up against physical teams in March for sure, and Barnes needs to figure out a way to deal with it beforehand.
Complicating matters the other night was A&M shooting lights out and preventing us from doubling to stop the guard penetration. It was kind of the perfect storm for them, but it's something CRB needs to address before March.
