Aidoo

He is not making much of an impact and they barely have enough players to field a team with their injuries. They played 7 players and their top two players have been lost due to injuries.

Aidoo just appears to have an effort problem that I believe is just part of his personality. He just doesn’t have that tough instinct needed to play college basketball.

If he had dedicated himself in college, I believe he would have the skills to play in NBA but obviously he didn’t do it at Tennessee and it appears it has gotten worse at Arkansas.

I heard there was something between him and Awaka, but it is interesting to me that Awaka also transferred. I think it was probably about money.

Best for both sides to move on - Aidoo is not a physical player and Okpara has been an upgrade over him.

“Awaka is not a physical player“? 😂😂😂 What are you smoking? He averages 8 rebounds while playing 19.7 minutes a game. You don’t grab that many boards in that number of minutes without being physical, especially with the ability of using strong hands to snag rebounds from others.

As for Aidoo, he’s as soft as Charmin and was rarely a significant contributor against taller big men.

I said Aidoo wasn't a physical player, not Awaka.

The thing nobody understands is, sometimes Barnes forced the ball inside to Aidoo. He actually has a great post up/face up game, but that’s all he has. If you don’t have it in your game plan to post him up and let him get his, he’s not gonna give you much. He doesn’t do the dirty work that’s required for the center position. Arkansas is finding that out right now. He basically had inflated stats here, because Barnes was willing to have him as a big part of the game plan

My apology for the error. I couldn’t agree with you more on that point.

I’ve read enough of your posts to know you usually are a person of clarity and that’s what caught me off guard thinking you were speaking of Awaka. Again, 100% my mistake.

Well he's playing college basketball. In arguably the best conference....

He’s not playing near as much college basketball as he was and his butt has certainly gotten more acquainted with the pine. Wonder if the extra money was worth it.

For someone who likely won't play anywhere professionally, I'd say it's likely worth it to him.

Maybe so. Depends on how much extra he got I guess. I can’t imagine he’s had much fun this year. Not to mention having to live in Fayetteville, AR for a year. It ain’t the end of the world but you can see it from there.

Cool story bro...

I didn't quote the OP now did I?....

Cool story bro?

Are you 12? 😂

And the person you responded too said he doesn’t have the tough instinct to play SEC Basketball which has proven to be true.

Facts are facts.

I read some time back that Calipari coached Aidoo's father. That, and Arky throwing around money to rebuild, were probably the reasons.

Didn't think teams threw big money at bench warmers...
Rodney Garner told me himself that some of the benchwarmers on football were asking for major money that other schools were offering. I'm sure it's the same in basketball as well.

Awaka had issues with DJ Jefferson and Carr. DJ is going to wind up on a registry if he's not careful. Carr was always his guy. There are 2 stories out on DJ/Cam (to a much lesser extent)...one involving the family member of a teammate.

I don't care to spill now that neither is here, but there was some HoyleVol extended family drama with Jefferson and Carr. Lots of "snapping" going on between him and some underage girls in my family. Glad he's gone...he's averaging 4 ppg at Longwood. Sounds like the game matches the person.

Meanwhile... say what you want about Aidoo but Cal's got another tournament first round exit today if not for him. 14 and 11 for him in the closing moments of a game that Arkansas absolutely bent over backwards to give away.

He did have a good game today. (Well at least a half.) But that was always the problem. Looks like an all American at times and then completely disappears in others. Motor isn’t always running.

I just don’t get why he transferred. Is there a story there with him an Awaka? They would be playing huge minutes right now. Just doesn’t add up unless there’s an underlying story. He has logged 7 minutes tonight up to this point for Ark.

Probably more than one reason, but a big one being half our fans hated him.

Aidoo did not show up. Edey may have intimidated him before the game and gotten into his mind. Not sure but the difference between him and Okpara is night and day. The connection between Z and Aidoo is miles apart from Z and Okpara. I rewatched the game Awaka is good but he fouls way to much but he handled Edey much better than Aidoo. Aidoo was just taking up space in that game. The game was called decently but Aidoo was just not there. Purdue vs Tennessee Game E8. Should have won that game.

Or maybe Edey was a PotY and Aidoo is just a pretty good player who was not built to defend him.
