Can you really, truly envision an org chart where Jon Gruden is working for Dave Hart?


That would be like Eddie Van Halen playing in the Hannah Montana band.

Until there is a definite no from Hart or Gruden, I believe that it is plausible he is our next coach.

i think its gruden and im not emotionally vested. im like the many of thousands that have become apathetic. my apathy began back in 2005 when it was painfully obvious that the coaching staff and administration at that time were leading us to this woeful current state.

i would much like to become a die hard fan like i was from 1984-2004. jon gruden would bring me back. bob stoops would bring me back. i suspect many people are like myself. they go to one game a year, watch the vols lose, reminisce about college days and then go back to living their pathetic apathetic lives.

i would be happy with a high level nfl hc or assistant over the college coaches being touted on the list. if andy reid is fired i would be thrilled to have him, a professional coach with proven success and stability. for those that bemoan his record this year, his son died at training camp during preseason.

listening to the bozo radio show...butch davis is 61 years old. i dont want a vagabond coach that is at risk for dying on the job.


bottom line for me, its gotta be gruden in order to bring the fans back

I believe Hart understands who the fan base wants and he and the BOT better get the hell out of the way to get this done. I believe the silence from UT and Gruden is deafening. If it's not him then somebody please go ahead and say something so the fan base can move onto the next one.

He didn't exactly say "no Gruden". He said that's what he's heard, but he realizes that until we hire someone, nobody really knows, so he's holding out hope.

If we get Gruden I will be more than happy with the hire, but I refuse to get wrapped up in all the BS surrounding whether or not he is coming here.

If Gruden doesn't come, some people on here will need to see a therapist.

If it's not Gruden, then I hope that whoever is leading this search isn't throwing all their eggs in one basket. There are other solid coaches like Patterson out there that could get the job done here.

Can you envision an org chart where any of the "top" name coaches are working for Dave Hart?

There has been a lot of backtracking and naysaying....I'm starting to doubt this thing is real.

If it's not Gruden we may be F****d as I don't think Stoops will make a move nor will Petersen.....Golden is a bust as is Strong....at this critical junction if we settle for Jones or a lower tier coach the fans will go ape s***.
With no less than 7 FBS schools looking to hire coaches I'm not sure where this leaves UT...I hope it's not with Golden....Patterson may still be an option but we need a Big Name at this low point in time...so if it's not Gruden, the rest suddenly don't look so promising to come in and rescue 2013 recruiting.....stay tuned it may very well be an underwhelming hire.... only time will tell

It never was real. I learned that when I was telling people this wasn't real in the Gruden forum and was attacked by all the "Grudinites" over there. They are all trolling and lying. I'm sure they will all be like "You don't know **** little boy" but they are all just internet attention lovers (nicely put) and have no idea what is going on. They wouldn't get all mad and defensive when you challenged them if they were telling the truth.

Ainge also said nobody knows whats going on and that Dave Hart has done an excellent job at keeping this to himself. As much as I want to believe the deal is done the reality is there is a very small number of people who are actually in "the know" about the situation. JMO
