Ainge must not be the man.

EA will be fine
I agree with that. Also agree that all this dialogue has become tiring over the course of a summer and can't wait for the ball to get kicked Saturday. Eric will be fine as long as he has learned to throw the ball away or eat it if in trouble instead of throwing it up for grabs. By the way, welcome to Volnation boi..

If anyone thinks that Coach Cut is going to make Ainge do things beyond his knowledge or ability, you're kidding yourself. Ainge will be fine.

In my opinion, it's going to be up to our receivers to help Ainge out. Obviously they'll have to go up and get the ball, run under it and turn the short passes into some yardage.

I agree Ainge will be fine, but in turn, will the offense be fine?

In today's college football landscape, simple playcalling won't win too many close ballgames. I think EA will play well, and in 2007, we'll have a more intricate attack. However, will scaling back the offense for EA hinder or negate our advantages elsewhere?

I'm not saying that Cut will scale back the offense according to Ainge. I honestly don't know how much of the offense that Ainge grasps at this point in time. I do know they can win a lot of ball games if they execute the simple plays well. That's really what I'm looking for, execution. With the running game the Vols are supposed to have, we don't need to throw bombs down the field or get fancy with the playcalling. Just have to keep moving the chains and keep Cal's RB's on the sideline.

Last year nothing worked and we still had a great chance to win up until the fourth quarter of almost every game.

Good explanation. I think you're right.

I really think that Arian is going to do some serious impressing this year. He might just be Ainge's saving grace.

I was reading an article where Arian was saying that he's much improved now that his "wings" work (his shoulders)..

We tend to overlook the fact that he had 5 consecutive 100 + yeard rushing games with a banged up knee and shoulders. I don't care what defense he was running against, he was tough.

I think we just saw the tip of the iceberg last year.

I'm not overlooking anything. I think that might just impress us more than Riggs let us down last year. Everything I hear about Foster seems positive. Speaking of, has his fostermom been around lately?

I don't think Riggs let us down last year. It's hard to run well when you've got 8 guys locked onto you, knowing that the pass is not a threat. He demolished LSU, in spite of that. He also put us in a position to win the Bama game, and broke his ankle in the process. That was negated by the rest of our offense committing idiotic penalities.
