Ainge to Start!

Thank God. I believe we would have at least split these last two games with Ainge playing.

Better late than never.

As much as I like Erik, he couldn't have stopped McFadden or Russell in the last two games....

I am glad to hear that. It also shows that the work ethic of the kid trying to get back into playing form. He is going to be motivated and I am looking forward to watching him play sat.

Do you think Ainge would have helped us hold onto the ball any longer? Assuming every single other thing about the LSU game was the same -- including Ainge making those two great passes Crompton threw, which were at least as good as any I've seen Ainge throw this year, and assuming Russell turns the ball over as freely as he did -- then we might have won that game if Ainge would have been worth a few more first downs. Time of possession is what killed us in that game, not quarterback play. You can't leave your defense out there for 22 (!) minutes in the 2nd half and expect them to stop LSU on that final drive.

(Especially when you're not bringing any pressure, but that's another argument.)

I believe that eric would have been able to convert more 3rd downs, keeping mcfadden off of the field, keeping our defense rested and putting up some points....could have been a whole new ballgame. I'm not saying it's in the bag, but I think it would have been a different ballgame. Our defense is so thin we need long offensive drives to keep them off the field.

Ark's TOP didn't matter. They were scoring virtually every time they had the ball, McFadden was practically good for 10-15 yards every touch.

How did their TOP not matter? we hardly rotate on the d line and linebackers because of injuries...if any team needs to keep their boys rested it's ours. Sure they would have put up some points...but not as many as they did.

Ark would have crushed us, but it would have been an interesting shootout with LSU.
Actually, I was watching the LSU game with my grandson and when we scored with 7:29 left in the game I told him, I'm hoping we didn't score too fast. Turns out LSU spent 7:20 engineering a drive down the field and scoring the winning TD with 9 seconds left on the clock. During that drive Erik or Jonathan couldn't have had any bearing on the game. That's all I'm trying to say in my feeble way...

Have to agree with Milo. We had no chance against the Hogs. That's the only game we should've lost this year. Had the lead in the fourth quarter against Florida and LSU. Offense let us down against the Gators and the defense let us down against LSU. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it...........

Can't wait for this week to be over so ESPN will stop talking about OSU VS Michigan, games like that happen all the time in the SEC, just once every 25 years or so in every other conference

Yeah, I've noticed all of those 11-0 v. 11-0/1 v. 2 games in the SEC the last few years.

I don't know if even a healthy Ainge would have been able to avoid LSU's pressure. As a matter of fact, having Ainge in might have even taken away from our time of possession. Crompton was pretty much our biggest rushing threat. He ate up as much clock with his legs as either of the running backs.

Other than the fact that is not true...

OSU Michigan is also the greatest rivalry ever.
