AJ McCarron

is he here or not? i would assume that he realizes that riding behind Star Jackson for 3 years, maybe isnt the best case scenario for him. i dont know anything about him. is he a pro-style or a pryor-style? would he be a huge aquistion for our recruiting staff?

Reliable sources on this board, say he has been spotted.

He's a pro style QB, but he needs to gain a lot of weight as well as learn to make better decisions. He gets some pretty good zip on the ball though.

"AJ's not going to Tennessee or anywhere else this weekend for an official visit. We are going to stay here for the Senior Bowl. I'm not sure where that came from but it's certainly not true," AJ's father Tony McCarron told BOL. "AJ is set on Alabama. He told Coach Saban last week he wasn't visiting Tennessee and he will keep his word. He knows Alabama is the place for him and has for a long time. So any reports of him taking a visit this weekend isn't true."

Thats the quote from his dad. I have gotten two emails that says he is in Knoxville and I am checking for verification.

from Hubbs

I'm hoping this is true...just so we can all laugh about Saban getting his ego stuffed up his arse.

I heard that A.J. wanted to visit but his dad is a Bama man and said..."I have the car keys and I say your not going to Knoxville." - another example of a dad who sucked at sports but is living vicariously through his successful son. This never ends well...the kid usually gets burned out and quits.

If he is here, then that can't make Saban happy. I doubt he would just take a token visit when he knew the outrage it would cause with Bama and his own dad. If he's here, I gotta believe we have a chance at him. Any reliable sources (link?) that say he's here?

VKB said, in the visit thread, he is hearing that he did make the trip.

He is not the only one that is saying this. FWIW

If he is someone please go post it on the Bammers message board! They are happy they got the new coach now they will be pissed again!

I don't even give KNS a glance anymore...it's obvious that they just check rivals/scout for all their info...no journalistic skills in the whole bunch...I do like MG though.

I agree...KNS is not good.

I like Drew Edwards though...can't stand the rest.

I don't think that Hubbs or anyone else has verified the visit or not. I would believe them over KNS anyday.

Last thing I saw on here was Hubbs saying he did not have him on his list to visit...but had 2 emails saying he was in Knoxville. He was going to get verification one way or the other. Last I saw.

I don't think he'll get verification one way or the other...if indeed he is here under cover...then everybody would have to be in on it and would have to not answer Hubbs or lie to him...which sounds pretty ridiculous to me.

Agreed. But if he is in Knoxville I just have to think it would slip out from someone.

So maybe there actually is a connection with this and the thread talking about walking out of class and seeing Monte, Reaves, and others talking about a QB recruit being there and having to get him.

I am told McCarron is not here and is not coming. Saban supposedly told him on Monday this week that if he felt he had to take a visit, he could take one to anywhere but Tennessee.

Anyway, McCarron and his family are in Mobile, I am told.

from Hubbs, Saban sounds scared

Certainly appears so..... Check out this comment from a Bammer:

"interesting note, Coach Saban asked A.J. not to take a visit to Tennessee and A.J. said "no problem." Now this is the first time I have ever heard of Nick asking ANYONE not to take a visit."

"Me thinks Tennessee may have brought out the infamous Coach Satan and will rue the day they crossed him." :post-4-1090547912::moon2::yahoo:
