Come on now, it was pretty funny!

On another note, everyone was predicting AJ to be a first-rounder before the season began and now they're saying he's a 4th to 5th rounder?! His speed didn't change and he put up similar numbers so what gives?

lol, can you show me the game where any player on the field runs 40 yards 70 times? AJ is a speedy LB. That's not a knock on the kid, it's a fact. He IS however, a very good tackler. IMO, he needs to improve his speed a little but really needs to focus on shedding blocks. And the lunacy of making him a DE needs to stop. He doesn't have the speed to get around SEC OTs now the strength to bull rush. He would be engulfed...not so unlike Jacques Smith generally was.

Maybe you don't know this, but AJ and some of the other defensive starters played way more snaps than they should have because of lack of depth. That is the point I am making which nobody recognizes when they talk about his lack of speed and other problems, which I think is not as lacking as people think. I never said he ran 70 40 yard dashes (that is what you could do to replicate what he is doing), but he did take way too many snaps game after game playing full speed, so by the time the game goes on and the season goes on it wears a player down and slows a player down. It also affects other games (wears down the body without time to rest). Tired players are not going to perform as well as fresh players, and that is a fact that nobody talks about when discussing him. We need depth and an offense that can allow the defense time to rest.

Yep...you make a good point. Turn AJ into a 2 down LB and let Reeves-Maybin play in obvious passing downs. Will make both AJ and our defense better.:thumbsup:

A.J. Johnson has 324 career tackles. He's probably not going to catch Andy Spiva's freakish record of 547, but if he stays healthy, he has a good chance of passing Jamie Rotella (413) for second place.
