FOUR-STAR ATH DAMARCUS BECKWITH
Beckwith, a senior at Florence (Ala.) High School, received his first scholarship offer a little more than a year ago from Tennessee and has visited the Vols at least five times since then. He returned to Knoxville on Sunday and Monday on his first official visit, and Tennessee is believed to be one of the top contenders for him, along with Florida. The Gators now are scheduled to host him this weekend on what could be the only other official visit he takes before National Signing Day, although he hasn't ruled out rescheduling his trip to Kentucky that was canceled last week.

Beckwith has referred to Florida as his leader over the past few months and recently has continued to indicate that the Gators are at the top of his list, even after his official visit to Tennessee. But geography still is working in the Vols' favor, and Beckwith's half-brother, Class of 2020 running back Camryn Beckwith, has committed to Tennessee as a preferred walk-on. Florida, however, extended a preferred walk-on offer to Camryn Beckwithon Thursday. A possible wide receiver, tight end or perhaps even running back, Beckwith is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 334 overall prospect and No. 16 athlete in the 2020 class

It was legitimately not meant with a racist connotation at all or blasphemous either, I’m a Sunday school teacher at a missionary baptist church. Tee is like a divine presence when he’s in that region. They looooooove them some Tee Martin. That’s another reason he does so well recruiting in that area, I believe. Most kids from here in Florence that go D1 usually stay close to home. Former Vol Brad White's son Braden took a PWO at Texas AM and was named 12th man this year. It's usually Miss. St, MTSU, Ole Miss, Alabama etc. Of course Dee could easily be the exception. I'm keeping my hopes on the 9 hour trip to Gainesville just being too much for the family and friends.

VQ and 247 mods have mentioned distance could be a factor multiple times recently so I would get too bent out of shape about Florida offering the half brother. Florida just taking away one of our advantages but they can’t take away the distance one. Not only do you have to convince Dee but also have to convince Camryn and family may not be so easy. Heck, I think "match" is all they've ever done but somehow lead.
But you know that if we did any of those things even 1 day after them, Dee would be disrespected by our being late.

Time for our fans to sit back, relax and wait 12 days for the letters to come. All of our sweat and worry will not make a difference on where they go. We already have an outstanding class signd and any additions will be more gravy on the biscuit. However, I really like gravy.

Sounds like we’ve done all we can, but the kid is just enamored with UF. With UF having the last visit, it’s going to be difficult to overcome.

I didn't care about Washington...I ain't gonna lie, this one is a dick punch as far as I am concerned. This is the weirdest recruiting season I can remember. We are going to have to do it the hard way, as nothing is coming even remotely easy. If kids want to go to that proven over and over and over again cesspool in Gainesville...It REALLY makes me doubt their character.

I'm not familiar with pulaski(sp?) but if there's any truth to the warm Fl weather comment and then the kid visits us on the coldest weekend of the year?

well, it what it is. it's not like UF's roster is getting worse, neither is UGA's or Bama's. they all have guys that will cause problems for anyone they play.

the good news...i think we got a few of those guys too.....

anyway......as cynical as my last few posts have been...i do find it hard to beleive that we're gonna whiff on all three of these kids.....we closed well last year, so we have at least seen us do it before.....so like siap, if it's drama you want, drama we got. lol....there'll be good reason to pay attention on NSD.
