'20 AL ATH Damarcus "Dee" Beckwith (Tennessee signee)

I wonder how Florida has all these spots, especially when they are going to pick Avantae Williams

I long ago quit trying to figure out the 25 thing. Bama, Penn State and North Carolina are all already at 26/27 and will presumably go even higher on NSD. Last year, Bama signed 27, Clemson signed 28, TexAM and Michigan were both 26 or 27.

So I have no idea, just sign whatever you want, it appears, and then figure out the numbers later.

Woah, I was literally just about to @ you and ask lol

I think the chances are high that he does end up playing 1 sport because of reasons listed previously. Mullen and White aren't unaware.

Iow, I think FL is selling him a boatload of BS. And apparently he prefers that over the straightforward "you'll have an opportunity to earn it" style that Barnes and Pruitt are known for.
Good luck to him.
I disagree with that. He likes Coach Pruitt a bunch and being straightforward is one of the reasons why.

What intrigues me here is the mention that Beckwith could potentially play RB for us. Gosh he would be an athletic freak at RB! I think long term though he’s a WR not a TE or RB. He is just too much of a freak athlete to be a hand on the ground TE.

It's not over yet as Coach Pruitt was 1st to offer and Dee really does like Pruitt a bunch. Little brother will still play a role although it won't make or break his decision. Barnes is 100% on DB being on the basketball team they just have not actively recruited Dee. I really believe he just likes the campus at Fl, the weather may play a role and the fact that Fl has shown him more love in basketball. South Carolina basketball also reached out but he's shown no interest in them lately even though they were 1st to offer to let him play both. Still some work to do academically as well and you never know how that will turn out. It stinks for the Vols if he ends up in putrid Gainesville, I personally believe that he's going to be a star wherever he goes but especially in Knoxville as we've just never had an athlete with his combo of size, strength, speed an charisma. Dee's a good kid, raised right and has a good head on his shoulders and tbh it's probably a tough decision for him in choosing between the 2, let's hope that he winds up in Knoxville but right now it's likely just hope. Pruitt is a closer and the main recruiter here so I'd give us a 35-45% shot still as FL doesn't lead by much, lots can happen in recruiting in a few short weeks. We're running out of room as well so that may play a role too.
If he is a good kid (not saying he isn't) then he doesn't belong in that disgusting pig sty.

Some coaches are "better" at running players off the roster than others. You must have your roster numbers drop before you can add. Some programs have no problem with recruiting over current guys on the roster.

Derrick Henry is the only guy I can think of as a comparison at RB.

I think he would be best used as a TE/WR hybrid type. I think he could be another Kyle Pitts type - matchup nightmare. Too elusive and fast for LB’s and safeties to cover, too big and physical for CB’s and NB’s to deal with.

You disagree but you're still leaning FL because the job they're doing "selling" him on both.🤔
Yes, it's possible for him to like Florida for other reasons as well. I think several factors play a part but I don't feel like hard nosed straightforward approach hurts or helps in this situation.

Completely false. They really arent a dime a dozen. Just to be fair. Not the really good ones. Esp in this era of football.
Colleges are constantly turning big slow HS RBs into TEs, big receivers often get converted to TEs as do undersized HS offensive tackles and defensive ends. I might not should have said a dime a dozen but getting an adequate TE is not that difficult in today's football environment. Getting a great one is indeed difficult but that goes for every other position as well.

Great TEs are far and few between, good TEs are out there everywhere as there are several types of HS football players that can be turned into a TE.
I think Beckwith could be a Witten ir Gronk type of difference maker with our S&C...guys like that are far more valuable than a WR...Good WRs truly are a dime a dozen.

Yep. Generational players are more valuable than good players. Diamonds are more valuable than coal. Mickey Mantle's rookie card is more valuable than the 1988 Donruss Pete Harnisch Rated Rookie I have six copies of.
