'19 AL CB Jaydon Hill

Will another safety be taken as well if they do this? I don't see them taking 6 DBs, 5, yes, but not 6. There are too many other spots that need players.
They’d be fools not to take McCollough... secondary d-line and o-line were obvious needs this year tho

Yeah that’s probably who they’re referring to. Somethings always been off about this guy. He’s been a Vol lock for awhile now, keeps pushing it back, and it makes me think he’s not sold on being a Vol and I don’t like that. It’s the behavior of a guy who flips to Bama in January. But that’s recruiting.
I couldn't agree more, Ron.

I’ve been saying for a while now if we pull Bush and Burrell I don’t care so much cause that’s our future starters on the outside IMO... with Fields and Bush locked in he’s a plus not a need
Don't get me wrong, I like Hill's game and would love to have him, but I'm almost to the point of wanting Huff more. I like his game a lot as well, plus his size. Multiple positions in the secondary, not to mention he can play WR if we really need him to...also, no doubt about it Huff wants to be a Vol. I like Hill, but give me Bush and Huff to wrap up CB, and I'm a happy happy man.

I like the fact that we still have our official visit with him in our back pocket, and Florida has already burned theirs. I bet at the end of it all it's either UT or USCjr

If I had to be coached by Terry Fair or Charlton Warren....It's not even a question.

While I agree. I did enjoy having Warren on the staff last year. He is a good coach and better man. Hard for a new DB coach to come in and change years of poor coaching and technique.

Having 3 guys on staff to work with the DB's will greatly benefit us this season and going forward.

Warrens good I'm not saying he's not. The DB's were stingy last year compared to years past. He definitely made them better, but he was just on a bad staff. But, at the end of the day, I'm going with the guy who's knows what the league is like and has been where I'm trying to get to.

Were the DBs "stingy"?
Or...
Did nobody feel the need to pass when they could rush right up the gut of that defense for yardage best measured in decimal points of a mile by the end of the game?

Not taking anything away from them... I'm actually asking a question here lol

Outside of Justin Martin I thought the DB's did play tougher last year than in years past.

Probably a little of both.

It was definitely this. When teams wanted to pass they did so at will. The whole defense was trash. Could have been more culture than coaching I guess

I would suggest to look a the PBO's they had. If there were more last season, then they at least learned how to turn when the WR turns to find the ball. :D

I feel like Butch's plan was to put up a boat-load of points with his spread offense and run mostly nickel on defense to keep opponents from catching up. Our DB's were probably worn down providing run support. I dunno, I'm not a coach or anything, it just seems like our team was built for a different conference.

It was. How many times would we get the ball back from a kickoff or a turnover, run a minute off the clock, and punt it back to the team?

If you’re a bad team you can’t do that because that’s how you get boat raced. So glad we’re going back to running the ball and the clock. Will help the defense out a lot
