'19 AL CB Jaydon Hill

He’s got until September and then I’m taking him off the board. There are kids committed to other schools who would ditch them already to come to Tennessee. Tae and Thompson are making some of these decisions a little easier.

Are you applying this same terrible logic to all recruits, or just Hill?

Huff will be an EE and has shut his recruitment down. He was slow-played here. Davis was also ready to commit, but the coaches cooled on him. IDT either one of those recruits are still an option for UT.

Did you change yer name?
Well, Freak did. But yeah.

Just to Hill, really. Maybe Bogle. Good thing I’m not employed by the university, huh?

That’s what I worry will bite us in the be-hind. If Hill jumps on in friggin’ February I’m gonna do backflips. If we’re trying to dig up another Bryce Thompson in March I’m gonna be miffed.

It was all about the timing with Huff. The coaches weren't 100% we'd have a spot and Huff wanted to commit by the end of July. He wanted to lock in a spot and shut down his commitment so he could enjoy his SR season and sign in December. UT was upfront with him and he was upfront with UT.

IDT it's going to bite us. While Hill's looking at options, UT's doing the same.

On the flip side, the Jaydon Hill news isn’t as sweet. Long considered a strong lean to Tennessee, the visit to Florida changed the dynamics in Hill’s recruitment. The Alabama native never told UT’s staff he was coming, per sources, but they definitely felt good about their chances.

It’s not over, but Florida has really prioritized Hill and won his family over. We’ll see if Tennessee can flip the script over the next few weeks before a decision is made.

I’m excited for new cb names to pop up

I think we are going to see fewer DBs in this class than what has been rumored with Alontae Taylor’s apparent emergence at CB and (potentially) Bryce Thompson’s as well. Those two paired with Harris, Burrell, and Fields already onboard for ‘19 and with the numbers crunch for ‘19 all indicates to me that one or two of the spots rumored to be reserved for DBs will be reallocated for other positions.

I want Bush and McCollough to go along with what we have committed. Hill can kick rocks.

Harris is a safety. We’re taking one more corner imo.

Yea but what are the chances we can land him?

We're right behind Auburn and his family got the VIP treatment at the cookout. Even though he's committing next week, it doesn't sound like he's shutting his recruitment down. He said he's visiting Auburn for the UT game in Oct and visiting Neyland for the UF game in Sept. Of course, that could change.
