'19 AL CB Jaydon Hill

Hampton visited Memorial Day weekend. He's a two-sport athlete and he'd have to feel comfortable and be a good fit with both football and baseball coaches. UT was hoping to get him back and have him spend time with Vitello, but that hasn't happened. Pruitt got him on campus and Hampton gave us a shot, but he's in tight with both football and baseball programs at LSU, and the odds of flipping him are not good.
Liked because Jake was being stingy.

I know you aren't asking me but Hill was the first cb we started hearing about this year and was always said to be the highest on the board. I don't remember anyone stating otherwise.
It seems like a few star gazers want DB more, but I have always felt the staff really wanted Hill.

Hahahaha. Next time, I'll you he's a silent. Or post a chin-scratching emoji to make you think I know something too secret to share. Or post something cryptic like, "We're making a move here" or "One to watch."
haha fair enough..............

That's what it seems like for sure. Hill seems to be one guy who the staff has never wavered on. Lots of others have jumped up the board only to fall once they see them in person. As LA pointed out Hampton and blades may have been higher but it doesn't seem like hill was rated much lower by the coaches.

The coaches have evaluated them all, and they see something in Hill that makes them think he's the right fit. They've been trying to get him to commit for a while. Most of the top CBs are committed, so we need to nail it down.

If Auburn offers... Hill could be a flip risk. They want to sign another CB. But all indications are Auburn would take Bush over Hill.

i think that's been the case with Hill from the jump is what happens when/if Auburn or Bama gives him a committable offer.....

i agree, would like to get as many of those spots nailed down as we can. but Hill will be one to watch regardless of a committment.

i haven't seen, but is Hill a kid that has any intentiosn of signing in december, or do you think he'd wait til Feb? gut says he waits, if he 's not a EE.

Hill did say he was planning to be an EE.

He has made comments about recruiting being a business, so if an in-state school offers, he could approach it that way. He said he grew up a Bama fan and has been waiting for offers from Bama and Auburn. Guess we'll see how it plays out.

Don’t forget the..... 👀👀

Weird...this recruitment is all over the place. I had pretty much written this one off..

This is a common sentiment that I just don't totally get. I have been following recruiting closely for around 15 years. I have also taught and coached 14-18 year olds for 14 years. One thing I have learned...never write anything off with the recruitment of 17/18 year old KIDS unless there is a signed LOI.

Yeah..I agree, but you do sometimes get a palpable sense of the way things are going. My sense was wrong on this one it appears, but I hope he isn't just playing us. It would suck to miss on both guys.

I hope we end up with at least one of these guys..I have always felt that Pruitt valued Hill more than Devin B. I just hope the kid is playing UF and the others, and not us. If Hill is pulling a stunt on Pruitt, it could cost us both players.
Jaydon Hill scares me to death, and he has for months now!

Hampton never made it that weekend. He hasn't visited since Pruitt has been there per vq
