'25 AL CB Timothy Merritt (Tennessee)

Tim Merritt is very high on Tennessee's safety board, and the Vols have prioritized him for months. He will see multiple schools in June, including the Vols and home-state programs Auburn and Alabama. Getting him to campus over the weekend for 865 Live is a step in the right direction as they look to pull Merritt out of the state of Alabama.

We’ve mentioned multiple times that Tennessee is high on Timothy Merritt. That interest is clearly mutual, as the touted prospect made it clear to us the Vols are a serious competitor to pull him out of the Yellow Hammer state. His strong relationships with Tim Banks and Coach ‘Chop’ have made the Vols a serious contender heading into a summertime decision.

Makes me wonder if the Staff still feels really good about Hayward and Onis. I mean we’re already At 3 Db commits with only 1 SR on the Projected 3 deep (Will brooks)

But there’s a lot of players that could leave after two years and don’t want to be playing freshmen too much

They were recruiting this guy to play safety.
They wanted him very much, however CB is by far the greater need.

On to the next

Man our recruiting right now...is not good.
We’re ranked 15th and our class isn’t halfway full yet.

I know it “feels” like we’re doing bad right now.
But pretty soon here things can get pretty interesting.

I think we close the summer STRONG and then add some unknown guys during the season. Late bloomers. I said the same thing last year too.

I think we’ll have a strong class but it will be very lopsided. Strong at oline, qb, dline and edge and weak at linebacker secondary and reciever (potentially)

Isn't it June? Signing day is close to 6 months away. We're talking about 17 and 18 yr old young men. Their thoughts change fairly quickly at times. To say we will be weak at 3 position groups is pretty lame at this point. JMO.....
