Just spoke with four-star LB Ke’Shun Brown of Alabama following his official visit to Tennessee this weekend. He said he really enjoyed the visit, and the Vols definitely are one of the main teams he’s considering as he prepares to decide on a school and sign this month during the early signing period.

The 6-foot-1, 223-pound Brown said he’s likely to choose between Tennessee and Texas A&M unless someone else makes more of a push for him in the coming days. He’s scheduled to visit Texas A&M next weekend, and he said he plans to announce his decision on Dec. 19, the first day of the early signing period.

Brown said the Vols are recruiting him to play middle linebacker, and he likes and trusts Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt and the Vols’ staff. Brown said he has known Pruitt since his previous stint as Alabama’s defensive coordinator.

Pruitt and defensive coordinator Kevin Sherrer are planning to visit Brown on Tuesday or Wednesday, he said, before his visit with the Aggies next weekend.

Full story on Brown coming shortly.

On Tuesday, Pruitt was set to go in-home with new target Keshun Brown. The Montgomery (Ala.) native comes from the same school as linebacker Mack Wilson, a Pruitt recruit at Alabama. Brown is scheduled to take an OV to Texas A&M this weekend. He plans to choose between the Vols and Aggies next week.

Tennessee is also now heavily involved with Russell. The in-state linebacker worked out for the staff this summer, clocking an impressive 40 time. Some wanted to offer him then, but following a strong senior season, the staff decided to jump all in. Russell has been pursued heavily by Arkansas, A&M and Auburn — same for Keshun Brown. The Vols would love to sign both linebackers next Wednesday. Brown took his OV to Tennessee last weekend and hosted Pruitt in-home Tuesday. Russell will be in town officially this weekend.

What’s the VQ guys feeling on us landing him? Thinking we take Russell and Brown, drop Henry and save a spot for Marshall (very unlikely) or Henry T. if one wants in.

I think we need 4 LBs this class. You take these two and then if Marshall and To’oto’o wants in you take both. This is an ideal situation, IMO.

i have zero confidence in Marshall coming here.

i think at this point with how the board is shaking out (things can change obviously) Brown, Russell, Henry and To'oto'o, if we can get him, would be a very good LB haul. but i think i'd want to hang on to Lakia Henry at this point.

but it's also a real possibilty that we lose Henry and T'oto'o winds up at Bama.

then what?
