Georgia pulled the number 1 and number 2 player in the state of Alabama last year. It’s not the locked area people think it is.

Tennessee will land the number 1 player in Alabama next cycle (Dylan Brooks) and he’ll be in the boat before the summer.

Fair point but what about 2020 cycle? Or 2018 cycle? 2017? 2016?

I hope you're about Brooks! I also myself said Alabama should stay a part of our recruiting footprint.

At which point he will plummet in the rankings inexplicably

No, I just prefer them go after priority targets we can actually land. Again, I ask you, what are the odds of landing a priority Bama target out of the state of Alabama? The closest we came was Eboigbe and it still didn’t happen. Seems like we would be smarter to prioritize other locations is all im saying

Bass you can't recruit like a coward or you'll repeat the Lyle Jones cycle. If you want to be great again you at least have to swing for the fences. Get your name swirling, mix that with improvements, wins to go along with Neyland and the other campus facilities and BOOM you'll be able to cherry pick who you want. Remember Clempsun was avg, then Dabo had that golden class led by that D-line and Mackenzie Alexander and the rest became history. Now the pick and choose get the #1 guy from places like TN, Ga, Ala, and so on. But the point is you hv to be willing to swing BIG and tk chances.

Bama didn't offer Robinson.

I'm glad we got Robinson, but it's a lot easier to get a 3 star out of Alabama than a higher rated 4 star that Bama wants.
It definitely is. But, if there is a player we want, we have to pursue him. At some point, we will get a couple of guys and that foothold may also pay off later.
