'21 AL TE Trinity Bell (Tennessee signee)

I'm fine with that.

But Butch Jones isn't coaching at UT anymore, so to not consider that it will at some point happen is foolish. I asked about Bell because some reports say he is 6 ft 7 inches and up to right about 300 lbs now. IF true, this young man will be a lineman on either the offense or defense.
He’s seriously put on ~50 pounds since 247 listed him last year? I know his frame can certainly hold it but that’s wild any way you look at it. He would be a monster DT. Tells me that could even get him into the 315 range while maintaining athleticism.

Could this kid develop into a Offensive Tackle? Could his frame translate to it? Could this be a plan in them potentially taking 3 tight ends: (Campbell, Bell, and Wolfe, the kid from Nevada, or seeing Roc Taylor or Nixon develop into one)?
I floated that idea out there the other day. Redshirt him and put 50 lbs on him. That athleticism at OT at 6-7, 310 lbs would be a sight. Still think DL is more likely, but I could see the OT position being an option depending on how we do recruiting that position.

Strong Side Defensive End imo, which is sort of a DE/DT hybrid in our defense

Yep. Calais Campbell is a good comparison physically and position-wise - not that I’m saying this kid will necessarily reach that level, though that would be awesome if he did while wearing a UT jersey.

Sounds like the staff things he could be an elite pass rusher. I’ll take those all day.
Jermy loves 6'7" guys with speed at DE on passing downs. They're a nightmare for OL to keep away from the QB bc of their reach plus they can get their hands in the qbs face. They've taken one of those guys in every class.

That’s the best way to do it.

Yep guys this size are becoming prototypical for 3 man fronts. Their reach makes it hard for a guard to place his punches, and it's an obstacle for a QB to throw over.

Last year, Bell had 26 receptions for 415 yards and 6 TDs. Defensively, he was credited with 28 tackles, 6 TFL, 2 sacks and 7 hurries. He also caused 2 fumbles and scored a defensive TD on a fumble recovery.
AP on swain this morning, basically said that he'll get a shot at TE, but can't see where his body doesn't grow out of the position and he winds up on the DL....to stay at TE, he'd have to basically stay at his current size, which just isn't very likely.

expect him to ultimately wind up on defense, assuming he comes here.

If he wants to go to the NFL and get paid...he will embrace a move to the DL.
