"best team money can buy" huh?

You apparently didn't read the article you linked. It says nothing about players being paid. It's also 3 1/2 months old.

i know it did not say anything about player's being paid but we all know that bama has been paying players since Bryant was coaching.

it doesn't matter if it's 3.5 months old, it will happen next year and the next. so as long as better players are available, saba will always screw committed players.

Your tears are delightful.

These players should know the deal when they commit to Alabama. Saban is ruthless.

I seriously doubt when these kids commit Saban tells them to hold off, or is in anyway honest with them about where they really stand. This Taylor kid sounds like sour grapes to me, but I really wonder if Saban told him when he committed that he was not first on Bama's board and he would be cast away if somebody higher came along.

You honestly believe we didnt buy a ton of players in the 90's?

Congrats. You just took this forum to a new level of stupidity.

bama, do you not have the money to pay for one of the bamer's paysites? so you have to get on a free site?

surely you can pick a little more cotton, enough to for $12.99 a month. :lolabove:

When all else fails, go with a stupid insult.

I hope this thread has been everything you thought it would be.

Is this supposed to be an insult? Try harder

i posted it, because most people probably haven't read it, and i know you bamer's will not ask saban at the media circlejerk, or press conference. so it doesn't matter if 2 or 3 months old.

1. It's "bammer." You've spelled it wrong twice. Misspelling an insulting nickname is painfully ironic.

2. You dug a hole with the OP. You've done nothing but dig deeper with every lame justification. Stop digging.

I responded to exactly what you said in your post. It's not my fault that your citation didn't back you up. If you would like to tackle the issue at hand, then I'll be glad to participate, but you have to write a halfway intelligent premise to which I can respond.

my post was referring the promises your boy breaks to players. The comment about the best players money can buy was a 'tongue in cheek' comment about your program (though there is much truth to it).

i could see why you people become gun shy when the words cheating and bama are in the same sentence.

No one makes promises. Offers from the school are as binding as verbal commitments are from the kids. It's a harsh game.

Nick Saban has always been a proponent of an early signing period, but other coaches, ADs, and presidents around the country have shot it down. If there had been an early signing period, and Justin Taylor had signed then, then he'd be at Alabama right now, or Bama might never have made an offer to him in the hopes that another player would sign later. It's wrong to hate on Saban for doing this when he proposed an alternative. He's playing by the same rules as everyone else.
