Anybody care to walk back their comments. Alabama just fired their baseball coach.

the bammer boy dont have the balls to walk it back.

"frowned upon"......lulz!

Brad is going to end up with Nate Oats in Angola being served tea bags eight square times per day....if he lucky. If mob grabs them first, we'll never see them again.

Almost as easy as betting against bammer vs Paul Skenes

That's honestly what I find so weird. What was it about switching decent-at-best, but totally erratic, SPs vs the best pitcher in the country that made someone say "I gotta get in on this!"? If someone had bet the run line (and I don't even know if you can do that in OH for college baseball), then I could see how Bama's late comeback would look fishy. But it was a money line bet on an already heavy favorite. Perhaps there has been weird activity on previous games, and this was simply the last straw?

Don't recall anyone accusing Brad of being particularly bright.

But, picking a game being played in Louisiana, with their gaming enforcement bunch,......wow.

Ok - I didn't want to go here until more information came out or further developments occurred, but given today's developments this really smells now like someone from within their program was leaking info to a bettor(s), or possibly even throwing games.

You're right that it sounds like a very half-baked strategy, but given that they've fired Bohannon just a few days after this story broke, I'm not really sure what else might have occurred. Clearly they discovered something that they thought warranted his immediate termination.

At the very least, someone from within their program is probably leaking info to bettors. At worst, Bohannon himself and/or a player(s) are involved in throwing games. I totally agree with you that this was probably a straw that broke the camel's back thing. I don't think they'd shut down bets on Alabama baseball on the basis of a couple bets on a single game.

You have to find money somewhere to pay those 5 star football players.

If half of rumors of Bohannon's activity throughout the season or true, his firing is going to be the least of his problems.

Greg Byrne should go ahead and announce a postseason ban for baseball and his own resignation. 2023 has been an absolute clownshow for the entire Bama athletic department.

Activity? Can you be more specific?

From what I'm hearing (and this is coming not coming from sources with whom I've personally spoken), the game in question is not the only game in which Bohannon was involved in betting. And each time the bet went AGAINST Bama. Apparently, the group with whom the SEC contracts to monitor gambling activity are analyzing some in-game coaching decisions, such as holding a guy at 3rd base in what would seem like a potential scoring situation.

All ‘Bama hatred aside, what a crap thing to do your own team & players. Those boys are trying to win and are being sabotaged by their own coach. Really pretty sad.

I know it'a baseball, and one game isn't indicative of anything. But I find it amazing that Bohannon gets fired for fixing games, and hours later Bama beats the crap out of a Top 5 Vandy team.
