Can Florida's governor admit he was wrong about coronavirus?

Over the weekend, Florida achieved the sort of record no one wants: It set a single-day record for coronavirus cases, with more than 15,000.

To put the 15,300 cases in Florida on Saturday in some context, it was two months into the pandemic before the US reported more than 15,000 cases in a single day nationwide. And, on Tuesday, Florida announced 132 new deaths from coronavirus, its highest single-day total to date.
"Miami is now the epicenter for the virus," said Dr. Lillian Abbo, an infectious disease expert with the Jackson Health System, on Monday afternoon. "What we were seeing in Wuhan five months ago, we're now seeing here."

Rich white coaches want football in a pandemic, but unpaid Black players are most at risk

What a bull$hit race baiting article about “unpaid black labour” from a guy in Canada.

"Rich white coaches" - check
"unpaid black players" - check
"According to the NCAA's diversity database, Black people composed 49 per cent of Division 1 football rosters last season, but just 14 per cent of head coaches." - check

"So if you're confused about why a mainly white group of coaches and administrators would encourage a largely Black group of athletes to resume practice even as COVID-19 cases surge in states like Florida and South Carolina, remember that rich decision-makers assume little of the risk. Money motivates the push to salvage college football season this fall, but race underpins all of it." - check

All good.

In four months time, New York City - the most densely populated city in the U.S. - went from the unrivalled COVID hot-spot to one of the lowest infection rates in the country. They did it by wearing masks and maintaining social distance.

Florida has accomplished pretty much the opposite.

Decide for yourself if masks are a good idea.

Sorry. I disagree with the premise wholeheartedly and your race database shows that only 49% of the players are black? Gee whiz that doesn’t seem like only “unpaid black labour” to me. If you think that coaches are only in it for the money I suggest you find another sport to follow because you are disrespecting a lot of what these guys and girls do.

Also, I’m not gonna be lectured by some Canadian about college football’s race relations in the South by giving his greatest hits of the BLM Movement by trotting out Mike Gundy and Mike Norvell as examples to prove his point.
