Alabama has already been crowned

Coach Green says: if Stewart Mandel wants to crown Bama, then crown their a$$....but they are who we think they are!

I know everybody thinks Saban is just going to keep moving around like Larry Brown, but I just can't see it happening. If he's successful in Alabama, no college team would spend more than the Tide would to keep him there. If he's not that successful, nobody will spend the money to hire him away. And nobody in the NFL will hire him again, of course.

His price is now so high that he's locked into Alabama for the duration of that contract, for better or worse. The only way he leaves is if he's a flop and they fire him, and with all that guaranteed money, you'd think it would have to be horrible before they'd do that.

In 2-3 seasons, when Les Miles is canned at LSU, Saban will be back in a heartbeat.

Sarcasm. That is what my first post was.

How long until Bammers start calling for his head if he doesn't take them to a SECCG in year 2?

I like the way he treats the media; like the pencil pushing geeks and tattle telling nimrods that they are. We as fans are just looking for steady improvement and to only lose the games where we are "out-talented". I would also like to personally invite every member of Volnation.com to our A-Day Game on Saturday April 21st at 1:00 p.m. There is speculation that attendance could surpass 90,000. Yall will have a great time and be able to scout out one of your opponets also.

You're right about that. For that amount of money, they're expecting multiple SEC championships as a given -- and sooner rather than later. Has there ever been a situation where a college football coach has had such immediate high expectations?

Every coach that has been at Bama since the mid 90's :)

Hahaha......well, they weren't paying all those guys $4 million a year. Let's say he wins two SEC championships in his first five years but fails to sniff the BCS title game (basically what Richt did at Georgia) -- for a lot of the Alabama fanbase, even that's not going to be good enough.

It would be good enough for me, but you are right, some fans just can't be pleased. Just get us into one of the BCS Bowls every now and again and beat Auburn, LSU and you guys more than you beat us and TuskALoosa is a very happy man.

That's very reasonable, and about what my expectations are for Tennessee -- and, frankly, all I think any program can expect in the SEC these days. (Other than maybe Florida with their 18 million people.)

It just seems like the expectations are unrealistically high for Saban; I don't know if anything short of a NC would be enough for a lot of Alabama fans, and a lot of things that a coach has no control over have to break his way in order to even get into the title game.
