Nice source you got there.

When will these crazies learn that credibility is the first step to persuasion?

You just disproved your own original article. The first one from the Jan Brewer fanclub site you had showed a graph that hinted a 1.1-1.7% drop in unemployment (Sept-Nov), but the other two articles said .5% and .6% (Also Sept-Nov).

You've given no information regarding the other "pros" you mentioned either.

There was a statistically significant decrease in the unemployment rate. Roughly 10980 new hires. However, 16931 or so people exited the job market. That means that less than 40% of the change in the employment rate was actually new hires. That means that right at 1/2 of one percentage point of the unemployment rate was the result of new hires over that time period. How much of that do you think was the result of seasonal hiring?

Put a binky in it and shush.

Of course it's going to drop when you put tens of thousands of undocumented employees out of work and replace even just half of them with legal workers.

That's a real nifty concept, isn't it? It doesn't do a whole lot in the big picture though. It just looks better on paper. Also, seasonal jobs exist outside your mom's basement. Everything but unemployment goes up in the holidays.

Time will tell on those but we know it has helped unemployment and demand on schools

There are no statewide figures yet on withdrawals, but some schools with large Hispanic populations have seen more than 10 percent of their students leave.

I would say a mere 10% is a drop in demand on the school system!!!!

Student teacher ratio just got a little help!

The thread title is very decieving. i expected something more along the lines that maybe they had discovered someone in Alabama that actually could read or had full set of teeth.

Does the OP realize that the unemployment rates across the nation routinely drop from November to January due to seasonal jobs? Does the OP realize that it happened once again this year, across the nation?

The Alabama Miracle seems to be an American Miracle (every damned year)!
