When the freshman starter is 12-0 and headed to the playoffs, the writing is on the wall for the other QB's unless Hurts were to get injured at some point. Can't really blame them.

Bama also has the #1 dual threat QB enrolling in January. I hate it for Cornwell and Bateman, but at this point they have to do what's best for them.

Yep. He was a highly recruited QB. But there is no way Saban lets him transfer to a SEC school.

It's not worth it's own thread so I will put it here... Ricky Town is transferring from Arkansas where he was 3rd string. He obviously will have to go the FCS route because he already transferred from USC. At one time, Alabama had a verbal commitment from both Town and Cornwell. Town was the #2 rated QB in 2015 and Cornwell was #3 in 2014. Neither QB ever attempted a pass for the school they signed with.

Bateman has already said he's staying thru the playoff. Don't know if Cornwell will or not. If Cornwell goes ahead and leaves, that would make Ardarius Stewart the third string QB.

I wonder if we're going to see more QBs hold out on signing LOIs until they see where their peers land. If I'm a top 20 pro-style QB, no way in heck I'm signing with anyone who is also recruiting a similar level dual threat guy.

It does and doesn't matter. Hurt could go down and Bama could put in "X" and still win 10 games with the defense. By the time Bama gets into a contest, "X" would be playing well enough that Bama probably would win at least 1 of the 2 games the "D" couldn't carry them.

Yes, Saban did imo. Cornwell has all the characteristics to be one of the best passers in the country. Of course, Bama has always been based on a run first concept.

Saban can. Notre Dame blocked Everett Golson from transferring to Texas or any opponent from that season.
