Alabama supsensions beginning to lift

Anthony Grant probably doesn't care what people think about it, nor should he.

I'm sure he doesn't, but the original post about speculation was because nothing had been reported other than "indefinitely suspended".

Let's be honest. The "indefinitely suspended" is usually the biggest joke and loophole so a coach doesn't have to commit to anything. It's whenever he feels good and ready, but doesn't want to commit to a certain timetable so no one holds him to it.

Well, indefinitely suspended allows him to let the matter be investigated before making any binding decisions.

Or in thi case when you see the NCAA tournament going out the window and realize your chances are slim without some of these guys.

I also wouldn't be surprised if he was receiving pressure from bigger dogs above him. I guarantee you people are wanting answers, or wanting the Gus out there playing. NCAA trip means exposure and money for the university, they aren't trilled about the thought of throwing it out the window,

You honestly think these two players raise your chances significantly for the tourney? If this was just them sweeping things under the rug, then they would have reinstated all of them.

That's not true. Pearl gave details to new years suspensions, byu gave details on Davis suspension, Uconn gave details on boatright suspension, we gave details on Goldens suspension.

I'm sure there's 100 more I'm missing.

Lsu gave details on Matthieu suspension, uga gave details on suspended rb this year....

Do I need to continue?

Depends on what they did

Depends on what they did

well by the instances i listed if its:

drugs
grades
eligibility
guns

its all allowed to be spoken on. not sure what else these boys could have gotten into.

oh and kicking people in the head ala jordan jefferson is also allowed to be shared in detail with the public.

the point is im pretty sure the privacy law applies to very little actually, the coach can word things to give you info on the situation at hand. also, the coach could ask the player if it is ok to release details to the media on what happened, and then privacy law would mean jack.

well when steele is your best defender, 2nd on team in assists, and the teams best 3pt shooter, and releford is your starting PG and leading assist man, leading steal man and 3rd in scoring, yea id say itd make a difference.

thats like taking away mcbee and golden from this team and asking if it effects our tournament chances???

or how about take away teague and miller from KY and see how well they play?

or you could take away walker and boynton from UK and see how effective they are??

releford and steele are 2 of the 6 most important players on that team. hell yea it makes a difference, take away 2 players from any starting rotation in the country and it'll make a difference.

What about Brian William his senior year? The new years suspensions were damn obvious - it was in the police report.

I'm drawing a blank. Senior year suspension for BW?

The new years was partially in the police report but pearl really gave detail as to step by step who did what kind of thing.

All my point was, was that privacy laws don't stop coaches from giving details about the suspensions, and explaining what led to them.

I don't think Green will ever be back. He's a senior, and he's given Grant problems in the past. Mitchell's only a junior, so I expect him to be back at some time.

But, come on, people. Just because Grant lifted the suspensions on these two players doesn't mean Grant and/or Alabama is a scumbag coach/university.

Indefinite suspension at the end... said it was an injury at first but really he had likely failed multiple drug tests (only rumors since Pearl didn't go into detail on the suspension).

I don't typically hear coaches go into detail about why a player was suspended when it already isn't really known and they know the media will is already all over it anyway.

I thought you were changing your name there Mister mygfisknockedupandi'mchangingmyidentityeverywhere...?

I am planning on changing it, but I have to come up with a good replacement. And I was sitting in class when I made the profile, and couldn't come up with anything else, so I just put typed that and figured I would change it down the road.

Also, I am still in school

That's right I forgot about that, he missed 2 games with what they were saying was a back injury. As you said we never really knew if it was or not, jut rumors that we heard.

It doesn't happen all the time, but coache do give some sort of idea why a guy is suspended sometimes. I understand why grant isn't, I was jut responding to someone saying by law the coaches can't, because coaches have in the past so if Grant wanted to he absolutely could give some details on the suspensions. Maybe you address the player first and let them know you have to give some info on the suspensions, but many coaches have gave some sort of details on suspended players before.

We know you and your people have no problem with half assed suspensions. See any suspension Urban Meyer "enforced".

BAHAHAHAHA

That's true no wonder UF fans are supporting Grant, this suspension would be considered a very lengthy one at Florida.

This makes three suspensions for Green. He and Mitchell are the two leading scorers this year and probable NBA picks. In my own opinion for Bama this is addition by subtraction. I think the Tide becomes better without these two. The attitudes were terrible, especially after Christmas. Maybe they got a bad present or something, who knows. Green has more technicals this year and since he has been at UA than ALL OF THE OTHER PLAYERS COMBINED. He played for the national team this summer and was ejected with two technicals against South Korea. Talented? Yes. Want him on my team? No.
