He don't seem to take any BS from players. I don't know many coaches now days that would suspend their star players before a big rivalry game or before a bowl game like Saban did against TN and Utah.

Isn't Saban one of the coaches with a reputation of oversigning his recruiting class, and dismissing players to make room for the new players he's signed?

I agree with you, and this mentality creates friction with my own perception.

If they release a player, creating room should not be the default reason for rival or actual fans thought processes.
