Alabama transfers

The only disappointing part of watching Bama fall apart is seeing other teams get stronger off of Bama transfers while we get the Bama back-up TE.

Waiting on the outrage and ire this comment will bring.

I’m just enjoying AL fall apart. Didn’t hear of any interest with any players so didn’t bother contemplating what ifs.

Don’t really get why we casually just watched Downs go to Ohio State. Offer that man a clean Million, I know we got it lol

Bama roster update;

Scholarship players: 75
Blue chips: 68

Of the 75, 39 are freshmen or redshirt freshman.

I think we see several more of the young guys exit after spring since they are stuck because Saban waited to announce after classes started.
Alabama has a new fight song:

Dad is a college coach, and they already had a plan. They had a 48 hour timeline, so they didn't want to deal with any unknowns. OSU was the obvious choice because the family don't like UGA. Wasn't coming here no matter how much we offered.

I guess I’m in the minority here but I certainly haven’t been pining for any alabubba transfers. I dislike them enough that I don’t care how talented they are, I’m not crazy about adding them to our team

Under the circumstances, I'm kinda impressed we could get the backup TE from bama. Maybe Staes doesn't impress him and he thinks he can start here? Dunno, but I'm glad we have a fully matured option to use and aren't limited to an injury plagued youngster. In a way, I'm also glad we didn't go ape in the portal and are relying on our evals and young recruits instead. Might be a protective mechanism on my part to avoid what some would call a poor portal performance, but I still cling to the idea that building a roster is far better through the traditional methods.

I tend to see it as our staff feeling good about the talent and character of our players. They're building a culture, trust, and loyalty by developing and building the roster though recruiting vs putting a different team of mercs on the field every season like Kiffin and aTm are doing. We're filling holes, but not diving into the deep end. Maybe that's me trying to take the moral high ground here, but I really hate the idea that we're in an era of free agency and the main goal for so many players is money.

I agree I believe this roster has some very good young talent and hopefully we only need the portal going forward to complement the roster we have. I don’t think these teams that are using the portal to build their roster are going to have long term success but I don’t get paid millions to coach a team either.

Fair enough. But if they don’t like UGA, go to a rival. Come on Dad.

You can bet that the university and their fans are whining about the transfer portal that every school has lived with for a while

From playing for Alabama to one of the worst offenses in all of college football. That’s going to be fun.

Read an article about why he chose Iowa. Said when he was struggling at Bama they would send him messages to keep going and not give up. Wonder what the NCAA will say about him being contacted. Seems like they should force a transfer, at the very least, but who knows.
