bama didn't show me anything last night. they have big problems on offense and MS has a good enough def. to beat them.

destiny year for Miss. state.

MS wins in a slugfest by 4 31-27

I forgot to mention that bama has problems with running qbs. and, MS has a power running game. lsu's power running game gave bama fits last night.

Miss State's front seven is good enough to slow down's Bama's run game. Problem is their secondary is horrid. Sims should have a big day.

LSU has one of the top pass defenses in the country. Alabama's offense has looked much better at home.

I should have said this, if MS can take bama's running game away. I can't believe bama can beat MS just throwing the ball. Blake Simms is not that good when he has to throw the ball a lot.

I think Alabama wins and wins the sec. Then miss st will still get in the playoffs with their only loss to Alabama.

If the cookin is that good on the road, imagine the home cookin flavor. Good luck to the Dogs if the game is called even remotely like Saturday, you might was well stay in Mississippi.
Miss. St. had better get a big lead early. If it is close in the 4th quarter, I guarantee Alabama gets some help.

Take a look at the last several losses that Alabama has had. What did all of those teams have in common you ask? An above average run threat at QB (Marshall, Wallace, Manzeil Shepard, and so on and so forth). So I'll take Dak Prescott for 200 Alex.

home cookin with the SEC refs

I lean this way too; to a point. If Bama wins out they're clearly in. But MSU is the bird in the hand at this point for the SEC so do they try to protect what they know they have? If Bama beats MSU, loses to AU and MSU loses to OM, a scenario that is very possible assuming nothing fishy goes on, you have no team with less than 2 losses and a shot at the playoff is likely gone. I'd argue that out of those 4 teams, 1 still deserves to be in regardless of record, but I'd be shocked if the committee sees it that way. If the records were reversed in this game or State already had a loss they'd have no shot but the cannabilism in the conference may just save State. Let's hope at least.

State cant win that game unless they find their early season form. Not against that team in that stadium.

They may get a slight bit of help with schedule working out like it did but that wont do it by itself.

"some help"... freaking refs will run the ball in for them if not for video replay review. Anything non-reviewable... good luck. Of course, after the game you call Shaw. :)

Bama at home with sec and national championship aspirations on the line.
I honestly don't even think it will be close.
Bama will be out for blood, BAMA wins handedly.

I hate the thought of Alabama getting into the playoff...I actually don't want any team not named Tennessee to ne in it

Here's what I see happening:

Alabama will end up beating Mississippi State.

And in midtown Manhattan, there will be heard a noticeable, collective sigh of relief coming from the CBS offices as they don't have to pass on the much higher-ratings, larger audience Iron Bowl for the Egg Bowl.

Well, I'm already wrong.

Alabama wins by 7 or 10. They would win by more than 14 if this game was played played any weekend other than the weekend following LSU. That game was a throwback to the early 90s before Air Spurrier was in vogue.

But Bama has a thrower in Jake Coker who can come in.
