Alabama vs. Tennessee

BamasBack, I just wanted to say a few things. First, Bama played a great game against my beloved Gators. Probably the most perfectly executed game I've seen in awhile. The Tide had my team backpeddling from the very beginning of the game. Momentum is a crazy thing and nobody knows that more than UT. For an example, view the LSU/UT game. The thing is, rivalry's are very tough to predict. I wouldn't predict a blowout either way. Whoever brings their A game wins. Against Florida, ya'll brought your A game and we brought about a C. If we both had our A games I think it would've been an awfully close game. My point is, I don't think either team has the advantage in a rivalry game with 2 talented teams involved. I'm excited to watch this one. Good Luck to both of ya'lls teams. Hopefully no injuries occur. :twocents:

Although Bama did soundly beat Fla, They are the same team that led the might MTSU Blue Raiders 9-7 at half.  They also trailed Southern Miss at half and were it not for that lucky miracle catch before the half they were in trouble.  They also needed a score late to beat an awful Arkansas team.  Also an Arkansas team that ran the ball all over them.  So if this Bama team that played those 3 gems shows up instead of the 1 team that beat Florida, look for the Vols to be pretty happy when the clock reads 00:00!! :pimp:

We've already been over this. Bama led MTSU 9-7 at halftime in our entire starting backfield's first game back from injuries. The O got it together and won 26-7. The USM game we had a dumb throw for a pick returned for a TD and a HORRIBLE punt that was returned down to the 12, both things that have been corrected. Brodie hasn't made such a dumb throw since and the punter has been replaced with a guy who averages around 42 yards a kick. But Bama came back and dominated the 2nd half to win by 9. If it weren't for Castille's fumble on the 2 late in the game, it would've been a 16 point win. Then you have UT. The FINAL score against UAB was 17-10. UAB had a great shot to tie the vols with just about 2 minutes remaining. They had the tying TD go through their fingertips, literally. UAB just lost to SMU on their home field. Don't bring up bad HALFS for the Tide when your team was dangerously close to going to overtime with a bad team.

Based on all the evidence it is hard to imagine that UT fans would start comparing schedules. I don't see how the offense will score 10 points on the Bama d without turnovers.

With that being said, I also think that UTs D will be the toughest Bama will see all year. Without Prothro this could be a 10-7 contest. Only time will tell.

Yall know nothing about this Bama offense. You think because Pro is gone, we can't score points? We still have 2 or 3 receivers that can burn any defense in the conference. Keith Brown did it to UF. DJ Hall has had over 100 yards receiving in one game, he's also had a multi-TD game as has Keith Brown. Matt Caddell is going to step up big time now that Pro is gone. He hasn't caught many passes this year because there were too many other good receivers. Caddell was considered the best receiver out of the sophomore class last year (Hall,Caddell,Brown,Knight). Now, Ezekial Knight, our most physically gifted receiver, finally gets to see the field more. Our receivers are still plenty good enough to beat your D, plus just look at who is throwing them the ball. Forget about a guy named Darby too did you? Leads the SEC in rushing, averages over 100 yards a game. Then you have our fullback Tim Castille who is the best FB in the conference. He and our other FB Leron McClain are both bruising backs and can also catch passes out of the backfield. Losing Pro won't hurt us as much as yall think it will. Yall just think that because he's the only receiver yall know on our offense. But 10 days from now you'll be introduced to the other ones, don't worry.

They still don't understand. Let's just wait til the game to see what happens. They think that the rivalry emotions are running through them only. Alabama loathes UT just as much as they hate us. This win is going to be dedicated to number 4.

That's a good point. Most of the vol fans on heres best argument is that it doesn't matter whose team is better, it's a rivalry and the UT players just want to beat Bama now. Well you think our players aren't ready for UT to come to town? These seniors have only beaten UT once, the 5th years have lost to them 3 times. They are foaming at the mouth at the thought of the vols coming to Tuscaloosa. I'll be surprised if clausen or ainge doesn't throw a pick or fumble the ball away yall's first drive. Our defense is going to be jacked up, and the crowd? fahgetaboutit.

Yeah the crowd at the UF game was just crazy. Whole lot louder than Auburn last year. I can't even imagine how loud it will be when the mountain hillbillies come down.

Still can't believe ya'll think that stadium is loud. NCAA 2006 ranks them what...18th? Still want to know why we have hope? Bama's offense has faced an average of 53rd best defense (arky's the worst at 93rd and 422 yd/game) while UT has faced the 25th best (worst is UAB at 47th and 350.4 yd/game). On the other side of the ball Bama defense sees the 74th best average offense (MTSU at 114th with 240 yd/game. So. Miss 90th and USC 95th, BTW.)
UT's average is 46th best (Ole Miss at 97th with 312 yd/game. Next worst is LSU 51st)

How about the perspective of an old VOL fan.

Can the VOLS beat Bama this year? Yes.

Will the VOLS beat Bama this year? Probably not.

But I'll still be cheering for the VOLS!!

Afraid not. I'm mostly old now!! But after a lifetime of cheering for the VOLS, I'm not about to quit. I just try to keep things in perspective. At least I don't lose as much sleep as I used to, and my ulcer doesn't bother me nearly as much as it did! ;o)

Well SI has an article on their website right now with half-year awards. Wanna know what they said was the best atmosphere in any game so far this year? Bama-UF. And I don't really get my sports information from a video game, haha. By the way, those were some great stats you gave. Here are some more...5-0 vs. 3-2, yall scored 17 against UAB who gave up more to Jacksonville State and SMU, we scored 31 on UF and yall scored 7, we gave up 3 against their offense and you gave up 16. :whistling:

If you're gonna say it, say it right...it's not "Hot Doughnuts", it's "Hot Now!"

I love it - we made some mistakes but that won't happen again.

You made some mistakes and that will continue to happen.

So Brodie won't throw another pick this year :eek:lol: Dude, get real!

So your punter will always kick it 42 yards :eek:lol: Dude get real!

Go watch the UF/UT game again - 3 key mistakes led to 3 scoring drives. Happened to you against SMiss but that doesn't count - what a joke.

MTSU first half was your first half of the season with changes. UAB was our first game of the season with changes. UAB vs MTSU is no contest.

S Miss had you on ropes. UAB and S. Miss are at the same talent level. Your team was not impressive against 3 of 5 its opponents. In each case your talent level vs. the opponent was a huge mismatch.

Your arguments are comical since you flip/flop back and forth about what certain events mean and indicate.

I hope your coaches are drinking the same Kool-aid that you are.

Oh yeah,

Tulsa scored more points against SoMiss and gave up less points than Bama did.

By your logic, Tulsa would beat Bama. Good thing they're not on your schedule :biggrin2:
