I would think that because of recent history, UF-UT would be way up there as well.  Recently, the winner of the game has gone to ATL 9 times out of 10.  Very big, and because of the very close, "debatable" games, not many of the fans care for eachother.  A very good rivally as well, for me, its starting to get bigger than the F$U game, but not quite there yet, lol, well see what happens this year, it could push it over the top.

UF is up there, you guys only need about 40 more productive years to compete with Bama as Tennessee's biggest rival.

That's it, no biggie.

There's no question that OSU vs. Michigan is the best rivalry in all of college football.

You did not just put Michigan vs. Ohio State on the same level as South Carolina and Clemson. :eek:lol:

Come on Milo . . . the Clemson/SC game was the best riot I saw last year.

Who do you think is the best statman? Im with ya, I dont think OSU/MICH is the best...I just dont get that feeling from the game. Maybe its because I have no intrest in the Big 10, or no intrest in either team. I get a feeling of hatred from AU/'Bama, same with a couple UF games (UT and F$U, but probably because Im a fan of UF), OU/UT is a big one, but its one team dominant. Id put OSU/MICH high, but not #1, when both teams are competitive, its a very good game, but when one is down, or both are down, or either is average, it really isnt that big of a game, what makes it great is usually the winner wins the Big 10 title. If thats not the case, its not that big, on a national fanbase view.

Well, I'd tend to think it's the best. You've got two of the most hardcore fanbases in the country. Each has one of the loudest stadiums in the country. Every year the game determines at the very least the Big Ten champs, if not a game as high as the national championship.

There are a bunch of great rivaries, but as far as the way rivalries are viewed nationally, I'd say that the top games are Michigan/Ohio State, Texas/Oklahoma, Tennessee/Florida, any game involving the big 3 from Florida playing each other.

GA-you dont think Auburn-Alabama is a big game nationally? I think if bama gets their act together and AU stays on top, its as big as any game in the country, but if that doenst happen, I agree, its only big to locals in bama.

Exactly . . . It's a big game, but I really don't think it's all that big a deal outside the southeast since the game hasn't really meant anything nationally for awhile.

I just can't imagine that somebody in Idaho cares who wins the Iron Bowl???

Or Oregon for that matter. Tennessee-Florida has also been a little less impactful since Spurrier's departure.

I can't think of any bigger, more important rivalries in the country than Bucks-Mich or Florida-FSU-Miami.

I think you've got to put Texas/Oklahoma in there. That game has been a top 10 battle for the last 5-7 years.

I think UT/UF is rising fast. Both teams are very good, and with some of the stuff thats happened in recent years (gaffneys catch, the no call from last year) theres a lot of controversy and hatred in the rivaly...as i said before, this year could push it over the top.

OU's won too many times...I dont think that makes a rivalry, but when every year its a toss up, tahts when its great...not every year, OU wins, if UT ever wins...i think itll go up.

Both teams have been 10+ wins over at least the last four seasons though. Even though Oklahoma keeps winning, it's still one of the most important rivalries.

It's sort of like the old Oklahoma/Nebraska rivalry back in the 80s. It was a HUGE game even though Switzer always beat Osborne.

UT/OU is very important. I think one of the things missing from it is a home field. I dont like thatd they play in the cotton bowl (same goes for UGA/UF in Alltell). I think itd be a lot more exciting if a team had a home field advantage and there were 90,000 fans cheering for one team rather than about 30-40,000 cheering for two. I think that would make it that much more exciting.

Michigand and Ohio State is the best because the game always ends up determining who the Big 10 champion is a lot of the times it determines if either team will play for a national title. Add in that Michigan has the largest capacity stadium and Ohio State has the 4th, the atmosphere and fan base is huge for both teams and are both in the top 5 of programs all-time.

17 national titles and 72 Big 10 titles between the two, I don't think there is a rivalry that can boast those numbers.

Another thing, Michigan and Ohio State don't have any other comparable rivalries, it's all about each other when it comes to hate. MSU or Notre Dame are semi-rivals of Michigan as is Iowa and Wisconsin to Ohio State, but no team compares. Meanwhile, Oklahoma has Texas, but also Oklahoma State and Nebraska, Georgia has Florida, Georgia Tech and Auburn, Tennessee has both Florida and Alabama, Miami has Virginia Tech, Florida and Florida State...the lsit goes on of these big schools having more than 1 major rivalry, neither UM or OSU has that.

Both teams' season comes down to the last game of the year, when they play each other, and the stakes are always very high.
