Have you ever been to Mississippi? There really isn't much to do but get drunk and screw.

LMAO, I have to say I went through it once on the way to New Orleans, felt like a trip to the 40's

Your original point has some merit...moral voids know no boundaries. I have "heathen" friends that I trust more than most pastors I have encountered in my few years on this earth.

With that being said you also have to look at the poverty rates, and the education in Mississippi. The welfare system and the NEA has not done Mississippi any favors, and I'm quite positive that throwing more money at schools and fertile mothers on welfare rolls is not the answer to their problems. At least it hasn't worked in the past.

I cannot get past the plain fact that government has enabled teen pregnancy, especially in impoverished areas.

The three states have large proportions of black and Hispanic teenagers — groups that traditionally have higher birth rates, experts noted.

Ah yes Fenian, you've put your finger on it. Clearly these two strong holds of the Republican party are the reason

Teen pregnancy rates are often higher in areas that have are "lower class" which generally means not as well educated and often times inner cites. If you want to look at certain groups of people, say hispanic, the reason for high teen pregnancies is because of their belief system. A majority of hispanics are catholic. Catholics do not believe in birth control....

i dont think they are having more sex in rural america then in big cities/blue states, they just arent as likely to use a condom IMO. Thats bad, more risk of contracting a disease., pregnancy, etc.
