Alden Hill's future at UT will be on special teams or transferring somewhere he will actually get to play. Pickett will probably in the rotation but the lions share of the carries will go to Lane and Jalen Hurd.
Alden will be on ST & be a blocking back with certain packages, Picket will rotate in at slot.
Devrin moved back to HB for a reason. He & Lane are the only two with 'Experience'.
Scott will likely redshirt along with Paulk.
Hurd will be the Big ? Heading into Spring practice. I highly doubt he redshirts.
You wont see Scott redshirt maybe Paulk but not Scott. He has said he did not come here to redshirt but to compete for carries and I think we will see that
Coach speak.
If he EE'D then sure. Jmo.
Lane / Jalen & Devrin / Scott / Paulk
Injuries could change that. But again, I don't see us throwing him out to the wolfs.
Hurd will definitely play, likely start. Scott will definitely play, likely 2nd back. Paulk should RS, but will play if needed and healthy.
Shades of 1991....James "Little Man" Stewart and Aaron Hayden...2 freshmen RBs carried the load all year and were solid for 4 yrs
With Lane out for Saturday's spring game, backup running back Alden Hill rushed for a game-high 101 yards, averaging 5.6 yards per carry in the process. Rajion Neal, who led the Vols with 708 rushing yards and five touchdowns last season, registered 34 yards on 11 carries Saturday.
"Alden Hill had a tremendous spring for us," Jones said. "He's one of those individuals who kind of quietly kept getting better and bringing a high level of consistency each and every day. I thought Rajion Neal had a very good spring as well."
From an old Rivals article. I think Hill has good upside.Hill said that Tennessee's coaches especially liked his size and the ability he has at 225 pounds.
"They loved seeing me and my frame, 225-pounds and also with the speed they were impressed," Hill said. "I know coach Dooley was really impressed when I ran a 4.6 electrical time on a grass field and then to back that up with the frame, he was really impressed.
"I'm one of those guys that has some speed and I have power with it. They just wanted to see my footwork and I did a good job with that stuff."
