This tells me one major thing...

CCM is signing 5 guys this class atleast and is attempting to over recruit the lesser talented guys he has brought in.

This is telling. What is interesting is I remember watching an interview where Foster stated that he considers himself a combo forward. IIRC, he projected himself to be a 3. Regardless, even if he is a combo, that is the same position that Davis and JW3 play. I like that we are looking at more big bodies. I feel that is important. I just don't know if we take the commitment before hearing from Nichols and JW3. I am a fan of Foster's game though. We'll see how things play out with a 10/9 visit from him and a 10/20 visit from Nichols.

I don't think we take his committment before we hear from the other 2.

Unless J3 has informed staff he's eliminated us.

If true BTO, then why take another combo forward? You already have A.J. Davis.

I'd rather get a 6'10 guy.

Saw that CCM is watching Schuyler Rimmer today...he's a 6'10 true center. Many things are developing and it seems to be a good problem to have that we haven't had in a while.

Obviously he thinks Foster>Reese or someone else at that position.

And in regards to a big, there aren't any we've been pursuing, hard to pick up on it now. If CCM decides to go that route look for him to push for Rimmer.

How are we sure that this doesn't just mean we aren't too optimistic on JW3 and Nichols and we have moved on to tier 2? Don't get me wrong, I have no reason to suspect that either. I just wondered if you had reason to think that this meant a bigger class and not that we were missing on some.

It could be.

It also could be we wants to visit and CCM is honoring that.

Could be just a safety plan.

It definitely is a backup plan or in addition to move, if we miss on those guys we have foster to fall back on.

However, until Nichols committs elsewhere I think the staff feels very good.

And if rumors are true Nichols is already a Vol.

Intresting. He at one time was considering us. I think we backed off a bit and he committed to FL. Last time I saw his height, he was 6'8". Maybe he's taken a growing spurt.

That does not necessarily mean that.......you don't just recruit Nichols and jw3, you bring in other players you may be interested in just in case.

If he is recruiting over reese, than the CCM being a class guy threads need to stop now.....you don't recruit and sign a guy and push him to move on before his first basketball practice.....granted I know he is hurt but still that would be pitiful.

Truth is, every coach is recruiting over every player all the time. In that regard, CCM likely will prove no different than any other. What we don't know is how he handles the one on one communication. My bet (hope) is he told all the 2011 kids that they were on year to year deals and he'd be working to recruit better players every year they were at Tennessee. Based on Reese's other offers, he probably should have been saying the same thing to him.

Heck, look at the 2014 PGs being recruited and you'll see Travon Landry being recruited over already.
