A player than can pass and shoot wow!!!! This is great news for Tennessee Lady Vols!!!!

This player has had such solid coaching she is SEC ready. A lot of players on the team need to get ready for some bench warming as this player will play a lot for the Lady Vols next season.

I like her heart and her fight that she has shown time and time again. We need a leader on the floor and I'd take a freshman if she fully embraces the role!

It will be interesting to see how the guard rotation shakes out next year--and who the 2 (shooting guard) will be. The question with Middleton will be her athleticism--does he have enough to play with the country's elite guards. There is a lot to like about her--but we've had players like her before and athleticism has been an issue.

Shoni Schimmel isn't some super athlete, and she's doing ok. If Middleton has footwork, anticipation and general court awareness, that will more than make up for lack of footspeed unless she's trying to guard one of the pure speed demons (a la Moriah Jefferson).

Next Season (Could look like this)

PG- Massengale/Carter/Middleton/Reynolds
SG- Carter/Reynolds/Middleton
(Basically 4 players sharing this minutes. Like this thought!)

SF- Tucker/Nared/Dunbar (The first two mainly, and we could play them together in some situations.)

PF- Harrison/Graves/Burdick/Jones (Sorry, but the last two had their chances.)

C- Russell/Harrison/Graves/Moore (The big 3 of Harrison, Russell, & Graves get the majority of the minutes in the posts, but a touch of Nared, Tucker, or Burdick at four when we want to play small ball.)

The one thing that can be said is that CHW will have some options next season.

I will say this about Alexa Middleton she played against some of the best players in the country while at Riverdale and held her own against elite competition. When she gets to college I'm sure her condition, speed, and agility will increase. I see her doing big things here at Tennessee.

Middleton looks to have been doing some serious weight training. She has some large arms and shoulders for a girl her size. The main thing I like about her is he basketball IQ and the coaching she has received in high school. I am certain she has a higher understanding of the game that most of the players on the current roster. She almost beat the men's top three point shooter lost 20 to 19 couldn't make a corner shot close but didn't go in.

I guess she can play more than one position at the same time ? :)

I have been wondering the same. I've not seen her play. I wonder if she can create her own shot. Can't wait to see the team next year. Hope they practice lay ups and passing. They sucked at those two things this year. They have to get better or it will be the same old story.

Oh trust me I'm not. You're definitely right she does! I have been keeping up with her and her, Middleton, and Dunbar should mesh well with the remaining players. I see maybe Nared getting more significant playing time then the other two actually. She is 6'1 and can pretty much play positions 1-4

Don't forget to put Jannah Tucker in the mix as well. I think she comes in next year and wows some people also.

I'm not sure any of them can play defense except Tucker, but I know they can shoot the ball and that is what were lacking.
