Today I can understand why Carter would exorcise the democrat out of anybody but back then I didn't. I was in elementary school.

For me, even when I identified that their policies was in conflict with some of the things I believed it took some soul searching to change. I see why it's hard on luther, law and some of the other liberals on the board. Deep down they know the socialist, moronic ideas are not long term solutions but it's having the C.O. Jones to do anything about it is the next hurdle. They hope Cortez goes away but the Democrats have bigger issues than Cortez. She and the other two freshmen dingbats the symptoms spawned by the other knuckle draggers in the Congress and media.

The problem is in their efforts to distance themselves from Republicans they said a bunch of socialist stuff without changing anything. They said it too long and got the next generation to buy it. Now they can either give up the pretext of supporting socialism, or try to ride it out. In this partisan era they cant back down, so they have to double down.

Their policy makers are victims of the slippery slope we have been told doesnt exist.

More like your post was borderline insightful.
The light is either on or off but the coffee is not either hot or cold.
The coffee could be cool, kind of war, warm, pretty warm, scalding......continuum.
Collusion is not either / or. It's on a continuum.
The decision has to be made on whether or not the position on the continuum justifies action.
Same with obstruction.
