Chism will be 1st team all SEC. I don't know that he'll be SEC player of the year simply because of his rebounding stats as a post player, he's 7th in the SEC alone. He's a scorer, no doubt...and a darn good defender but is 27th in the SEC in PPG. I personally don't think he has the stats to compete with the John Wall's, Devan Downey's, Tasmin Mitchell's, DeMarcus Cousin's of the conference for player of the year. I hope I'm wrong

Thought it was pretty obvious. I've always found it amusing how overrated Oglivy is, he's slow and the officials end up having to give him his points at the free throw line. The smallest contact gets him to the free throw line. Still though, he always comes in front of Chism in the preseason SEC awards. I'll never understand it.

Unless Chism just goes off the rest of the season for 30+ points and 15+ rebounds the rest of the season the highest honor he will get will be 2nd Team All SEC. That's just how it is. I only wish Chism would've been full utilized a long time ago. Hopefully we keep feeding him the ball.

I'm not saying this as a Kentucky fan, I'm saying it as someone who watches SEC basketball on a regular basis.

If you think either Demarcus Cousins or John Wall aren't the SEC player of the year at the end of the season, your flat out of your mind. First of all, because both of them quite frankly are the top two players in this league.

Second of all, Kentucky is the media darling this season, as evidenced by people falling over themselves when it comes to John Wall. Cousins is gaining ground though, and from what I gather he is actually leading the POY at the moment among voting media members.

Downey is a great point guard and I love him as a player. But anybody can put up 30 points in a losing effort when they jack up 30 shots per game. Thats not that valuable.

No matter. Voters are idiots and going with Downey, unless he falls off the world.
