Tressel should be fired....the athletes suspended...and the Sugar Bowl "victory" vacated. Period.

Lets see if he gets the same treatment from the NCAA as Tennessee got. Haven't heard ESPN say very much about it like they did Tennessee.

Yeah, they've treated it about the same. I've seen it on there multiple times today.

It will be almost identical to the Pearl drama. OSU will be forced to fire him or force Tressel to step down to avoid stiffer penalties.

I almost think Ohio State will try and keep him and then get hammered.

Oh yeah, just let the Buckeyes try that crap. The NCAA will curb stomp The University of Phoenix over that. Online degree my azz. :lolabove:

Waiting for Good ole Kirk to start lobbying to keep Tressel
O Rly?

Fellow ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit played quarterback for Tressel's predecessor, John Cooper, who was famously 2-10-1 against Michigan before being fired. Herbstreit said Tressel's success helps insulate him from his misdeeds.
The Ohio State fan base is blindly is just supporting Ohio State and Jim Tressel," Herbstreit said on ESPN. "It's almost gotten to the point where he beaten Michigan, he wins 10 games, he goes to BCS bowl games and they'll support him no matter what he does as far as the fan base. If this would have happened to John Cooper, not only would they have fired him, they would have actually lined him up at a firing squad and fired him....The bottom line is he broke the rules by the NCAA and it's very difficult after you do that to go into the future homes of recruits and try to recruit and try to say, 'Hey, we're going to try to do things the right way,' when you have this in your background," Herbstreit said. "I think it will be very difficult moving forward with Jim Tressel

If the investigation goes into the season Im interested to see if CJT gets the same treatment and constant reminders during the games that CBP did.

Only person in the media that I have heard supporting and whining about Tressel being suspended only is Dick Vitale. Honestly it is so nauseating to listen to Vitale and his rants about how good of a person Tressel is and how he simply just got "caught up" in all of this.

The next time Vitale is critical of another coach in this situation will be the first time.

He has no credibility after standing behind Jim Harrick and slurping Bobby Knight for decades.

I hate saying this, but he was absolutely critical of Pearl for, principle wise, the same thing Tressel has done.

Hope Tressel stays on..Love watching him get beat. He wanted to win the Sugar Bowl bad! Cracks me up. Nobody even cares. Let him stay and coach the Buffalo Bills.

Vitale said on M&M this morning that he shouldn't be fired because OSU didn't gain an edge in recruiting from it.

Booby Knight may have been an ass, but I think he ran a clean program.

No one disputes Knight graduated kids and ran a clean program, Vitale excused his behavior time and time again.

I must say Knight is much more palatable as a TV analyst than he ever was as a coach.
