ALL SEC Awards are out

Haha, very true. Pearl saying that the trash talk Scotty was getting from UK players hurt his game tells me he is far from ready mentally from being an NBA player.

I have dogged hopson as much as anyone on this board. but he has played GREAT down the stretch for UT minus UK on the last game of the season. HE IS GOING TO BE DRAFTED IN THE FIRST ROUND... WITHOUT A DOUBT.

Yes, he still has a couple weaknesses and room to improve. But I challenge anyone to name another player in the SEC that has his size, athleticism and scoring ability (both to the rim and 3pt range).

If he keeps improving, he'll be an NBA starter.

Don't quote my post and then say that. You won't find a single post of mine saying Hopson should have been POY. With that said, if you think Parsons was the best player in the SEC this year, you're the joke.

POY candidates are pretty weak and people can't have it both ways.

i've heard that the SEC is a bad league. if that's true, why couldn't the other POY of the candidates elevate their teams to barely above .500 in league play.

seems like one stud should have been able to propel his team to greatness in a league so poor. there was no such player.

the best player in the league (IMO) is brandon knight.

the player who deserved to win player of the year nearly averaging a double-double in league play, leading his team in rebounding, assists and 3 pt fg%, and helping his team win the league championship was chandler parsons.

i agree with the sentiment that Knight was the best overall player in the league. had his team not struggled on the road so much and he not been so turnover prone it would have been much more apparent.

Looks pretty good to me. Melvin should be on the all defensive team. Also, not sure why they have to cheapen an all-sec honor by selecting 8 players on each team.

I think Melvin should have been on the defensive team as well, but everything else I couldn't argue with.

Melvin is too inconsistent. He's had some absolutely brilliant defensive games (Villanova, Kentucky home), but he's also had a couple of the worst defensive performances on the team (Florida at home comes to mind). When he's on his game, he's one of the best defenders in his conference. But, like everybody except Hopson and Harris, whether he'll be on his game on a given night is anybody's guess.

Jenkins, Hopson, Knight, Jones, Green, and thompkins were all better than parsons this year. It is a joke that he recieved the award.

Take Paraons away and UF finishes roughly the same. Take Macklin away and they look like Arkansas.

As much as I hate chandler Parson.....Florida would be a 8-8 team in the sec at best without him.....He makes that team

They won tough games without him or when he was a liability with his injury. Your argument doesn't stick.

can't say i agree with the POY choice, but i don't think anyone else deserved it a great deal more than him.

He didnt play one game and that was against LSU. Is that what you call a tough team? And with that injury they still managed to get wins....not much a liability if anything it just shows how tough the kid is....like I said I hate florida but I don't see anybody else that deserves it.

He was a complete liability against us in gainesville. He did nothing. He has a nice all-around game but he was not even close to the best, or the most important player(to his team) in this league.

So he averages the most assists and rebounds per game for his team and double digits in points but he isn't the most important player. Not buying it
