My mom starts chemo in a week or so. And even though it isn't breast cancer, it's her second fight against it less than 18 months. Reading something like this makes me wants to punch the OP in the face hard enough to make his teeth come out of the back of his neck. That's not a feeling I normally have towards anyone. But it would make me feel better I think.

Its for breast cancer and its all auctioned off to help benefit breast cancer research.. You sir are one selfish SOB if you are sick of that "pink crap", its for a great cause. Guess you must be one of the lucky people to not have to deal with any type of cancer in your family during ur life time.. Pathetic..

OP, when you loaded your browser, and got on VN, what in the hell went through your mind? Of all the threads with topics to discuss, you chose to start your own thread about how "pathetic" it is for NFL players to rep BCAM.

No kidding, I had a relative text a donation because of the exposure from the NFL. They are doing a great thing.

Please, do us all a favor and muster up the other 30 points of IQ to process the objective of your next thread, before you post it.

Or prostate cancer or colon cancer or skin cancer or other cancers which kill everybody. There's a legitimate criticism to be made of the way that the politics of the breast cancer movement/industry has sucked so much attention narrowly to itself. Breast cancer sucks, but not any more than half a dozen other cancers. Breast cancer didn't kill my mom, but melanoma did kill her sister.

I don't get why we can't just raise money to fight cancer. Period.

Because they are trying to get more female viewers. I know it's for a great cause and I actually like the whole pink thing but let's not pretend like it's 100% out of the goodness of the NFL's hearts.

Not too sure about the color pink, but I know that if you use have a charity event with the word "cure" in it --e.g., Kites For a Cure -- then Komen will sue your ass. Google up "Komen lawsuit" for a little taste.

Always lovely when a charity gets big enough that it has to support a whole parasitical administrative and legal apparatus.
