All things STOCKS

Stopped out on DKNG today. Oh well. Guess I'll take my 20% profits and move on. Maybe it will drop below $40 again and I'll jump back in.

Never been a fan of grocery stores, 2.2% typical margins and relying on volume for profits. Sure during Covid volume has been high so profits are up. What's your play here? Covid period or beyond?

It’s a possible long term keeper. They’re really not simply a grocery store. They’re kind of the opposite of a Walmart. I go to Walmart for odds and ends and then wander over to the grocery side. I go to Kroger for the groceries and have an ever expanding option for other items. They also manufacture, own their fleet, rent space to banks and coffee shops, sell jewelry, gas, pharmaceuticals, used to be 24 hours and will be again. They are huge and have economies of scale yet are a fraction of the size of Walmart and Amazon so have lots of room to grow. Figuring out pickup and delivery. Generally a lot easier to park, run in and grab something, and get out (unlike Walmart). Aldi’s is their biggest problem.

I was going to say they sound like a local chain we have out here called Fred Meyer. Then I looked at the Kroger website and they own Fred Meyer.

It’s pretty wild, but I haven’t actually owned shares of anything in months. And I’m doing much better this way

And they own Ralph’s. My favorite scene in the Big Lebowski is when Walter is in the mortuary, complains about the high price of an urn, asks "Is there a Ralphs around here?", and then it cuts to Walter with the Folger’s can.

If you can catch a dip, check out $5 Jan QLGN calls. Expecting EUA on an at home rapid test kit and study results on CV treatment in conjunction with University of Louisville.

I'm working on chart reading. Does this look like a cup and handle forming (if the price goes about $0.10 above the horizontal line at $127.66), or do both sides of the cup have to be closer to the same height?

Hard to tell with just a line graph. Trading view is free if you want to be able to draw trend lines, support/resistance etc. Extremely helpful. A lot of videos on youtube with good information. All the bullish/bearish patterns don't always work as advertised.

@BigOrangeMojo Hope you're still holding those LCA shares. I was off on the low end by a few dollars by December when we were discussing it in July. Will jump in to the 30's when merger is announced anyday.

Sold 250 at 24.75 this afternoon. Still have 1,000 shares. Will likely prune more (250 more) at $25.

Someone drove up QLGN right before 2000. Hoping that means the PR is announced tomorrow.

KLR is the next swing the Twitter account is recommending. It’s competitor ran 300% earlier this year and they have contracts with google. I just don’t have the money to buy right now.

8.44 today, we’ll see if it takes off.
