What about that - fans storming the court after the game. That's not allowed in college basketball unless you're Minnesota or Penn State or Virginia or ... anyone not named Tennessee.

I still dont understand that....I feel like if enough students/fans wanted to rush the court, it would be done. It's just that no one wants to be the first guy they try and make an example of. If everyone rushed at once, they would give in. You can't stop 1K plus with 50security guards.

No duh...but it's the fine the school gets that pisses then off, and the couple of students who will get arrested to be made an example of. With as in debt as UT is, I don't see Hart being pleased about shelling out 25k or whatever it is so fans can run onto the court.

Act like you've been there.

When? It wouldn't by chance be the same week/weekend as the SEC tournament because I'd love to check it out.

Trust me! Hart and any AD in the country would love to shell out 25k for a big enough win where the fans rush the court. That kind of excitement just builds attendance which sells more hot dogs, etc....

If hart wanted fans to rush the court he wouldn't pay security to stand there and tell kids DO NOT RUSH THE COURT...lmao

You act like our attendance is struggling lmao, we're gonna finish top 10 in the country again this year for about the 10th straight year.

It's ok though, I'll trust YOU.

We've had wins over top 10 teams every year for almost a decade now. There's no reason for us to be rushing the court for anyone at this point. "Act like you've been there" most definitely applies here.

It's also blatantly obvious they don't want to drop that kind of cash considering the security for such situations.

I would never do it, I think it is immature; BUT when the heck are the folks in charge going to realize that the fans are the catalyst? More people get hurt in the bathtub than EVER have by rushing the court/ field. Take all the fun away and you will lose the entertainment factor. Overprotective society.

We should NEVER rush the court. Under what circumstances or situation should we ever rush the court?

I understand the safety concern for the opposing team, and I certainly don't think that rushing the court is something that should be done often.

However, I will never forget my freshman year at UT: on the field in football after UF win and rushing the court in basketball after beating UK the last regular season game to win conference title. It was a blast.

Number 1 in the sec? Sorry Kansas

I don't remember us rushing it when we finished 1st in the SEC under bruce, did we?

Edit: guess the poster above answered my question, I was there and didn't remember fans storming the court.

Edit to my edit: yes I do actually, because I remember the fine or warning coming down and Hamilton talking about it.

Is the SEC the only conf. that gets fined for storming the court? Cause if so, that tells me something about the actual frequency of injuries.

Their is also saftey issues crossing the street. not sayin just sayin
